If he could win, he would qualify for the U.S. Open. Of course, that would open up bigger possibilities.
No, he would not qualify if he wins.

I did a search that said: yes, the RGB Canadian Open is an official PGA tour event, and the winners of such events automatically qualify for the U.S. Open.

I saw that when I googled but after going through the exemptions list, there's no mention of the winner of the Canadian Open being automatically qualified for the US Open. Maybe I'm missing something.

I agree. I just hope he wins -- maybe about 62 or 63? He'll have to get his iron shots closer and putt better. Also, do like Scottie --- stay hydrated and eat some energy bars. (Maybe he already does?)

Maybe it's F-12. I think the "multiple winners" merely recognizes that there will be multiple winners. The word "multiple" should be omitted.

The U.S. Open is just about filled up with six available spots still to go. The winner of the 2025 RBC Canadian Open, if he's not already in the field for Oakmont, earns at least Thursday and Friday tee times at the national championship next week.

This link appears that it means you need to win multiple events for F-12, however.

Fox has his eyes on win No. 2, but there are other implications as it pertains to next week's U.S. Open. Fox entered the week ranked No. 75, and the top 60 in next week's rankings will earn exemptions in next week's major field. Because Fox's win in Myrtle Beach came in an additional event, he's not in line for the exemption that comes for winning two full-FedExCup point events since last year's U.S. Open but he could still crack the top 60, and likely will with a top-5 finish. Keep the OWGR calculators ready.

The way some of these guys (e.g. Yu and Manassero) are playing , it looks more like vicinity of -24.

Cam probably needed something like a 61 or 62 to be in the ballpark. Great tournament for him tho.

FriscoKid -- looks like you called it and I missed big time unless Manassero or someone makes a big run.

Yep if he could have played -3 yesterday he would be in the lead now. That +1 really hurt.
But he's played really well. Maybe he can get hot the rest of the year.

74Ag1, he would be in the playoff if he had a 67 yesterday. His payoff is $257. And a top ten finish.

Top 10 get his a guaranteed start at the next PGA tour event as well which is huge when you are trying to get your card back, but may end up hurting him in the Korn Ferry standings.

This is a question out of ignorance- why does this hurt him on KF tour?

It just takes away a potential start over there. You obviously gladly miss KFT starts for shots at the big tour. One amazing week and you have your card back.

All true but now with only the top 20 Korn ferry guys getting a tour card for next year you need every chance to win and accumulate points unless you think you can get enough PGA tour points to finish top 100 (which you probably can't without a pretty full schedule)

True.

It's funny but if a guy plays well enough to win on the KFT he probably would've been in the mix that week on the PGAT. Maybe Champ will break through soon.

He missed a ton of putts 9 to 12 feet the last 2 days and of course his wedge game needs work. Having said that, top 10 is a fantastic result.

The man has 4 professional wins, a top 10 at the 22 masters, a top 10 at the 20 PGA and made around 9 million playing golf. Better career than Brandle Chamblee!

He could never play another round and it would be hard to call him a bust. He's done us proud so far and he's still young.

I'm trying to remember what interview or youtube thing I was watching recently but it had some tour guys on it and they went out of their way to say the exact opposite. Korn ferry is very different than the tour.

Not just quality of field, but length and difficulty of course conditions and set up. And then there's the un talked about reality that the tour is a lonely place. It's not friendly among peers like college or even the Korn ferry tour. The travel, pressure, and cut throat competition just aren't comparable. It's why so many hot shot kids come out, run through Korn ferry, but fail to stick on the tour. And talent is only a part.

Champ probably will get sponsors' exemptions to the 3M Open (July 2025) which he won in 2021 and the Sanderson Farms Championship (October 2025) which he won in 2018. These aren't guaranteed but are considered likely. He is currently 145 on the PGA Tour - FedExCup, up 24 from 169 (as shown in the initial post). Brandt Snedeker is #100 with 260.

Champ also won the Safeway Open in 2019. It no longer exists and was replaced by the Procore Championship in Napa Valley California. They are very stingy with sponsor exemptions. Nevertheless, Champ might be offered an exemption if he does well in the 3M Open, especially after his top 10 finish in the Canadian Open.

Blanca Fernandez Garcia-Poggio is currently 47 in the Order of Merit on Ladies Euro Tour; couple of good finishes recently in Tenerife and last week at Irish Open. She's playing a mix of LET (including the big Aramco events) and Epson events to work towards LPGA Q-school finals later this year.
