Headed to play 36 in a couple of weeks for my birthday. Haven't been out there since 2022. Any one got insight in to course conditions?

My mom lives 20 minutes away, last time I was there it was in great shape. I go up there and play about once a month.

I was out there with a group for Masters weekend and played 5 rounds over 3 days. Our group has been going a couple times a year for the last few years. Conditions were consistent with how they have been the majority of our trips. The greens were in good shape, as were the bunkers. Fairways were decent, still felt like there were some areas especially on mounds where the grass was a bit spotty. I'd say the same for the rough, but that's a bit tough to gauge with all of the trees and dunes. Many of the tee boxes were in rough shape and there were many holes with fresh sod on the boxes, so it looks like that's their area of focus for improvement. I think in a couple weeks the ones they have replaced will look great, but I assume they will start working on the ones that have not been touched yet.

I'd say we left content with the conditions, although I was a little disappointed early on because I follow Pine Dunes on Instagram and the videos they are posting make the course look pristine.

If you haven't been out there since 2022, #14 will play dramatically different. They lost the big tree that used to guard the green, leaving way to a much easier approach.

Have fun! I love going out there. There is so much risk/reward and depending on the pins the course can play different from day to day. I will warn you, I have never seen it as busy as it was last weekend. I thought it might have been because of the Masters, but the guys in the shop said it has been a very busy spring. I guess the secret is out!

Played for my birthday in February. It was awesome as usual. With the awakening of Spring and the East Texas rains, I'm betting it is in pretty good shape. I'm headed back in May.

I've never heard the word "awful" and "Pine Dunes" in the same sentence.

This place is one of the most serene places in Texas. It is truly a hidden gem.

If you played after they punched (which is required/necessary to create their lavish greens), then you need to try again - because it is 100% worth the hype.

Seems like the course goes through quite the rebound between late May and early July from above.

Reminded me to grab a card from last time I was there. Would have been late August last year. Shot even on the front from whites. Started with a double too. Back 9 roller coaster 43.

First time to shoot par on a nine other than my home course.
