Looking at AC for a tack/feed room. This is concret floor, spray foamed. There is a lofted storage as well

12x12 x 9' lower floor w/ a 9x12x5' upper floor.

Mr. Cool DIY? Professional install mini split?
Any window units good enough to get the job done?

One or two window units will certainly be the cheapest way to go, especially if you don't require heating. This will moderate the humidity and knock the top off of the temp range in there.

If you want living-room quality conditions, the mini-split would do it.

1 window unit is plenty. Plus, easy to swap when or if it dies in a few years. I like tack and gear to be at 80 degrees ish.

Well. Figured I'd update....

I tried the window unit. Really didn't like how it sat in the window & sealing it. 1 night and had more bugs come through that thing than I've ever had with the stand alone unit that went out. SO..... back to the store it went. Would it have been sufficient? Absolutely to keep it 80F.

Ended up needing some extra power over that ways anyways, so now my "AC the Tackroom" task on the honey do has turned into a sub panel+minisplit. Overkill? Absolutely. $150 got multiplied by about 30....

You'll love the mini split once it's up and running. Quiet and the dehumidifying aspect of it should keep things in better shape. We put one in the garage and it's been awesome.

Mr. Cool was on the list but The guy that did my house had a good price on a small mitsubishi unit (or so I thought) was around $2500 installed. AND....I don't have to do it.

They put some knock off brand in my garage. Instruction manual is in Spanish. I have to use iPhone translate to read it. But it was 2100 installed and it works beautifully so I'm good with it. Good warranty and when it does I'll tell the guy to do it again. Hope you like it!
