Howdy -

We are going to be building a few barndo rental units. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good "free" or "affordable" software package to help with the floor planning and design? What I've found online for free is not that great...

Sketchup and chatgpt (paid) work pretty well. If you're doing a few I would lean towards an architect.

I used one of the products from https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/

They allow you to draw it in 2d then walk through it in 3d. A lot of people used sketchup, but I found this product easier to use. The versions have changed a little, but the one I had even did takeoffs for certain things.
