Freezer is fine. I understand it likely froze up around coils and sensor. I emptied it, opened it all up, and have it in the garage with my heavy duty fan blowing. How long is long enough for everything to reset and thaw? 8 hours in the hot garage enough?
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

8 hours should be plenty I would think.

Ours seems to do it every now and then. I usually unplug it, chip away any ice I can see and leave it open for 24 hours. I've tried less and for whatever reason it doesn't work.

We had a fridge go out while we were home and didn't realize it as we only happened to open the laundry room fridge that day. Now we have temp monitors in both freezer and fridge areas so if temp rises above a set point we get a text.

Mine did that. The humidity that got in created ice on the condensor/fan. I had to defrost that, and then I haven't had any issues.

We also had to replace the defrost sensors, and it fixed the issue for good (started doing it periodically- damn Samsungs)

Which brand/model sensors do you use?

I use mocreo sensors for refrigerators, freezers and water detection. As a side effect I get notifications when the gateway looses power which is more often than actual device failures.
