I'll bet the line up of volunteers for this mission far exceeded the number of seats. I'd have flown as an observer but they didn't ask me.

Yep! I switched from Army to AF my last semester when I heard about navigator school not requiring 20/20 vision. Best decision I ever made. Flew as Weapon Systems Officer for 18 years until the single seat fighter caught up with me. They actually paid me to do it! Countless refuelings over those years. Made four ocean crossings, one Pacific and three Atlantic, but…. the F-4 didn't have microwave, cot, or toilet. We had what was called a "piddle pack" for peeing. I do know guys who used their helmet bags for, well you know what, on ocean crossings.

My longest flight was 11.9 hours from NM to Germany. All we had to do when we arrived was to land the jet. Can't imagine, and my hat's off to, those guys flying that far, shacking the target, and RTB.

One of my UPT classmates was on that b-2 mission. Good dude and lots of good guys in that communityS Go pills work wonders for the long ones. I prefer just sticking to caffeine though because i feel like I cant get decent sleep for days after taking a go pill.

Longest sortie ive had was just over 10 hours, launched to "defend the base" from incoming drones then bounced between the red sea, syria, and iraq responding to rocket/drone/mortar attacks and the occasional russian jets overflying our dudes on the ground. That was a 5-bag day where i'm glad i had a ton of piddle packs and water/snacks and thank allah i didnt have the ****s from the DFAC.

Unfortunately i know more than a few guys who had to go DNIF because of food poisoning and some of them caught it in the air… talk about a nightmare.

"We're filling up two piddle packs per hour, and piddle packs weigh so many pounds, so we were trying to figure out how many pounds of solidified pee we were going to have to offload from this aircraft when we finally landed," Deaile said. The answer? About 100 pounds."

They gave us a few Go pills for the trip over and maybe one No Go for when you arrived. I didn't need the No Go so saved it. When they closed down the bases in Thailand, a group brought them to Holloman, then some of us took them to their new base at Lakenheath. We went on to Ramstein for a few days, then flew a C-141 from Torrejon to Dover. The 141 was configured half cargo pallets and half passenger seats. As soon as we got airborne, I grabbed a blanket, took the No Go, and laid down on the red paratrooper seats that lined the fuselage. Next thing I remember was the loadmaster waking me up as we were about to land

Ha! I did the same on a contract flight from korea to washington, they gave us some no go's to readjust when we arrived but i took one as soon as i got into my seat and time traveled to the US.

They wouldnt let us fly with no go's in case someone accidentally took the wrong pill, which made sense.

My first time taking go pills the IDMT that gave me mine told me the dosage incorrectly so I ended up taking 3x as much as i was supposed to. Cue to 20 minutes later and my flight lead is telling me to stfu, apparently I got pretty chatty on the radio.
