I've posted before about some of the great WWII archaeological YouTube sites available, and I am excited to tell you all about this upcoming episode
Last summer, on the 80th anniversary, Time Team was honoured to collaborate with Operation Nightingale and Cotswold Archaeology on a deeply meaningful excavation at the crash site. Together with veterans, volunteers, and local historians, we uncovered new evidence, honoured the memory of the crew, and brought their story back into the light.
This dig was a powerful reminder of how archaeology can connect us to the past in profoundly human ways.
Through my research on Texas Aggies killed during WWII, I know that our own Aaron L. Brinkoeter '42 was one of the 10 crewmen on B-17 42-30851 / Little Boy Blue
I'll update this post when the episode is available.
