Hello All,
I was not in the Corp, but I am so curious about these buttons. My wife's great grandfather was the owner of the Campus Tailor Shop and did work for the Texas A&M Corp of Cadets from the late 1800's till about 1930.
When cleaning out my mother in law's house we found these metal buttons (1 picture is wooden buttons). I put a quarter in each picture for size comparison. Smaller seems to have been for a shirt, and larger for a jacket? Few different designs.
Would love to learn more about these. The last picture I used a jewelry cleaner to clean and they look fantastic. Is that advised?
Is there a place on Campus where we could donate some to be displayed?
Not that we are selling, but is there any value? Guestimate? We usually do something during the big event, and I usually end up with a few cadets… on top of feeding them this year, can't wait to give them all a button.
Any information about the buttons, Campus Tailor Shop or Charles Nitch (0004) would be appreciated.
Thanks!
