Question is this really a bonus? I have read on military sites that this is just a housing allowance to make up for the higher cost of living and was passed by Congress and is considered non taxable. I have also seen where this a bonus by Trump ad is considered taxable income.

What's the correct answer? Also did reserves and NG receive payments?

That's correct. This is funded by Congressionally appropriated funds to supplement BAH. All active duty get it, and reserves that have at least 30 days active duty service time by Nov 30 (I believe) get it - according to an email I got today. Don't know about NG.

I was a reservist who Spent 6 months on orders from Jan to June. Didn't get it.

The way the weekend warrior requirement reads to me is that you had to be on 31+ day active orders on Nov 30 not any point in the year.

I'm guessing that day is when the bean counters took a snap shot so they could ensure payment matched trumps presser.
