I love reading these list and picking out books to read. There are always several that I have already read and some I have read multiple times. The first time I read Ender's Game was when I was CPL in South Korea 87-88. I reread it again on a NTC rotation 89 and reread it back 2020. I had to buy a new copy because my copy from Korea was following apart. Another is This Kind of War: The Classic Korean War History, by T. R. Fehrenbach probably the best book ever written on the Korean War. I wish I would have read this book in my teens vs in my 40's Man's Search for Meaning (Viktor E. Frankl). Highly recommend this book Peak: The New Science of Athletic Performance That Is Revolutionizing Sports (Marc Bubbs) just amazing information in it.

What books on the list have you read and were they worth the time?

Navy: Navy reading list

Marine: Marine reading list

Army's isn't out yet.

The current CSA might not have published a reading list, but the last one (from CSA Milley, my opinion of whom I will not share) is still available here.

Australian Chief of Army's reading list

DIA Director's Reading List archive

British Army Professional Reading List

Another note: one book that bounces on and off of the CSA's reading list, depending on the current CSA, is The Echo of Battle by A&M's own (emiritus professor) Brian Linn.

Starship Troopers doesn't seem to be on any of the current Chiefs' lists either.

I'm sure we share the same opinion of CSA Milley.

I looked over his when it came but got distracted and missed this item: Combat Ready? The Eighth U.S. Army on the Eve of the Korean War
Thomas E. Hanson // College Station: Texas A&M
University Press, 2010

i will need to get a copy to read & add to my library. This Kind of War by TR Fehrenbach touches on it but be great to read a book that goes into detail on that area of the war. Thank you for the other list. I find I have more that books that I want to read than time.

Well I'm sad that I never had a class with him. I had to Texas History since coming from the Army and graduating high school in AZ I didn't it on a high school transcript. I will have to purchase his books a read them though.
