You guys have some sophisticated pallets. I've never been a fan of IPAs. I'll stick with my Lone Star!

I didn't make it to the brewery, but hit up the tap room for some cans. Pretty good stuff.

Also, had a Maine Lunch with my fancy Maine lunch at The Lost Kitchen this afternoon.

Just got word today that I'm headed to Albuquerque for a couple days in a couple weeks for work. Any brewery/restaurant recommendations?

I'd hit up La Cumbre. It's pretty small and unassuming, but their beer is great.

Oh homie, I gotcha.

La Cumbre, as mentioned, is a top 3 brewery in the state - especially for hop heads. Their old location on Girard is small and gets packed. They do have a new taproom on the westside of town if you want to make the trip. If you are out there, Campo at Los Poblanos is an Excellent dinner spot.

My favorite brewery in town is Gravity Bound. It's small, parking is awkward, it's near "skid row." But they have the best beers in the state with a small, but creative tap list. It's a stop I try to make every time. Just park in the street and you'll be fine. (Dripline and Marble are right around the corner too. Marble is super popular - and very good, but widely available around the state. Dripline I believe is the newest brewery in town and just started getting their own stuff online when I was there last, but it was a good experience)

Up the road about 5 minutes is Bow & Arrow, which is one of my other favorites. Huge tap room, huge tap list, and usually a good food truck. They have a good variety of beers with a bit of an emphasis on sour and wild ales. But they've got some nice IPAs and lagers. Around the corner is the Kosmos, which is a cool spot for a burger and a beer.

Flock of Moons is by campus. It's the best newer brewery in town. They rotate a good variety of beers and excel at the more traditional and German styles, though they do keep a couple of IPAs on.

A few more notables: Bombs Away Beer Co, Quarter Celtic (brewpub with solid food), La Reforma (small brewery with good tacos).

My favorite restaurant in the state is Cocina Azul. I usually go to the original location on Mountain Road, but the one on the northside of town at Paseo del Norte is bigger and has a big parking lot - much easier to access. My order is Carne Adovada enchiladas - Christmas, get some sopapillas to clean the plate at the end.

I love a good food hall and Sawmill Market is a great one!

Oh, and listen. Do not leave valuables in your car no matter where you are. You will probably have a great experience and won't have any problems, but car burglaries are common, so just be aware.

If you need any other suggestions, let me know.

Awesome, thanks! I knew someone was an Albuquerque/NM regular just couldn't remember who. It's a quick trip in and out but I'm gonna do my damndest to hit up gravity bound, it looks outstanding.

Trying some local beers in New Brunswick. The guy at the bottle shop did a good job recommending some good ones in the west coast style.

Pretty epic Friday beer share today. Started off with 10 day old Dinner from Maine Beer Company. Last year's number 2 rated double IPA on Untapped. Next went with Magic Beans from Smuttynose, currently the top rated coffee porter on untapped. Finished with 2019 Utopias from Sam Adams which lived up to the hype.

Sitting outside at a tiny brewery in Alma, Canada, a few hundred yards from the Bay of Funday. Pretty solid IPA - Devil's Half Acre, and APA - Champ Ale.

I'm getting some crowlers since this town shuts down early. Every restaurant closes at 8pm and I only found 1 bar that is open until 9pm.

Also, it never occurred to me that there is another time zone in North America that is past EST.

March Madness Contest: Final Update
jah003 (Jacob) came in clutch with the home delivery right before kickoff! Lots of great stuff in this drop.

Can't wait to crack into some of these after our epic win over UTSA tonight. Not pictured: Tree House Haze. Hopefully, we can get a few more participants in the contest next year.

I'd be back in if we go back to every loser sending boxes. I know it is messy, but it also seems way more interesting. I've never won, but the idea of getting 10 different random beer boxes seems a lot more interesting than getting one.

A couple of West Coast IPAs from Prince Edward Island. I'd buy both of them again.

Swung by coaltrain yesterday and they had 4 different trilliums on sale as singles. Built my own 4 pack for not too bad a price tag as far as trillium goes (~24)

Randomly saw this brewery while getting near my hotel on the NE end of Nova Scotia. Good thing, too, as every store I had passed was closed.

1497 IPA - not bad, but not memorably good either. If I had other options I would have kept looking, but I didn't, so I got some togo. They were out of cans though, so I had to go with a hotel growler.

How many beers were in each box or was it based on a dollar amount?

I believe there was a minimum ounces guideline, but I am not sure what it was. From what I saw in pictures, a fair number of boxes were way over the minimum.

Pretty sure it was the equivalent of 6 tallboys but yeah, most shippers contained much more than that.

Grabbed this on a whim earlier this summer. It is nice on a warm day. Definitely a farmhouse cider. From a great winery and farm in Dry Creek in Sonoma. Definitely my first cider in a few years.

I was lucky enough to win a few times. Some of the boxes were great (that's not to insinuate that some where bad). Made for a fun spring/summer drinking through things.

We could try this again. I just had a really hard time keeping tabs on/harassing people who didn't ship. Also this thread seems to have a lot less posters than several years ago.

I'm less active, but still here. I'd be down for the old way as well. I've got some brewery stops from last month I need to share now that travel is slowing down!

i'm still around occasionally. When i was actively participating in the thread, I was buying and consuming way too much beer, which is not conducive to my running/riding.

Still see just about every post, mainly lurk now! I drink more wine than beer nowadays and no longer get thrilled by constantly trying new beers. I've started gravitating to choosing by producer first it seems.

Some more Canadian beers. The Happy was pretty average. Not really my jam. But the River of Fire was fire.

It is very strange that in New Brunswick, they won't give you bags. That would fine if they sold beers in 4 packs, but they don't. You grab 4 individual cans, then have to figure it out leaving the store. I don't even know what you do if you get more.

Headed to the NCR (staying in the Balston area of Arlington) is churchkey still the go to spot? Any breweries worth venturing out for? Will have a car but staying right on the Metro as well.

I just saw this. Still looking for places to go, or already been?

I work about a mile from Ballston, but live out in Loudoun County, so most of my go to's are out that way.

Aslin is awesome, and there's a location in Alexandria, but no where near a Metro stop. Nice variety of beers, and I haven't had a bad one. Good food at the Herndon location, I assume Alexandria is similar.

Port City in Alexandria is also pretty good, but its been years since I've been there.

Starr Hill in McKean was ok, and it's right across from the McLean station in the Silver Line. Food was pretty good, beer was so so, though. There's a rooftop beer garden that looks cool (we ate in the indoor brewpub).

I hear good things about Juicy Brewing in Herndon, but haven't been yet. It's less than a mile from the Herndon station.

Out my way Ocelot is my favorite. On the west side of Dulles. Best beer of all the breweries I've been to or had beer from in my year plus in the NCR, and its not really close.

Venturing further out, Dirt Farm Brewing out west is on the Blue Ridge. Good beer, good food, great views.

Finally getting around to posting some of my brewery stops from vacation and a couple of work trips.

First up, Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills, NC. Haze Craze Pal Ale (meh) and New Zilly Pilsner (not bad). Good location, pretty good food, beer was just ok. Wife enjoyed the root beer.

Next was Lost Colony Brewing (we ate at the Lost Colony Tavern in Manteo on Roanoke Island, main brewery is on the causeway in Nags Head). Beer and food both just ok. L to R: Kill Devil Scotch Ale (the best of the bunch), Hatteras Irish Red, Nags Head IPA, Kitty Hawk Blonde. Also, the Lost Colony stuff on Roanoke was underwhelming. Wouldn't go again.

We took the passenger ferry from Hatteras to Okracoke. Long day of driving from Kitty Hawk, then a long ferry ride. Enjoyed Okracoke, but not sure it was worth all the travel. Hit 1718 Brewing on Okracoke, though, and it was fantastic. Food and beer were great. L to R: Notorious FIG (wheat with figs), *****ly Pear Tart (delicious), 1718 XPA, Happi Jaq (outstanding hazy), Ramp 72 (favorite beer of the trip, brought home a growler that lasted one day).

Last stop on this trip was Precarious Beer Project in Williamsburg, VA. It's adjacent to Colonial Williamsburg, so if you're ever visiting there, it's an excellent lunch option. I had the Superdelic Kittens (their Kung Fu Kittens hazy with Superdelic hops, close 2nd to Ramp 72, and I brought a 4-pack home which also didn't last long)

More later from trips to Little Rock, and Quad Cities, IL/IA.

I was out there a couple weeks ago but thanks! I actually just found out I'm probably headed back out there for a couple days in a couple weeks. My brother introduced me to ocelot years ago and I was a fan. Spending some decent time in Chantilly as well so might have to find time to swing by there as well.

Tonight's beer of choice.
