Great album! Dr. LadyDave saw him in DC for a solo show in February and we're going to see him and the 400 Unit at the Ryman in October. Put on a helluva show at ACL in April.

I've seen him at least ten times, and the Ryman shows are special. I haven't seen him since his divorce, and the shows that Amanda Shires played were better than when she wasn't there. Her violin added more depth to the sound.

Spent a day out there a couple of years ago and Branch & Bone brewery was top notch.
Also, I'm not much into aviation, but the National Museum of the US Air Force is phenomenal. The Wright Brothers National Museum was very interesting as well.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to try and check them out. Yea last time I was up there for work (only other time I've been there) I didn't have the reads for part of the conference and was able to spend a few hours at the museum, you're right it's pretty cool.
I decided to drive up to VT today. Sitting outside on a sunny and 70 afternoon, drinking a Double Sunshine, with John Prine playing on the brewery's speakers is the life.
I can easily get Sip and Little Sip where I'm at, but I've never seen Double Sunshine anywhere except the brewery, so I had to pick up some cans to go.

Last day at Niagara Falls…super commercialized and not sure I will ever come back. You need to witness it but it is like a small town carnival with 2 casinos.

When i saw that SWA flies direct from SA to Albany, i decided to try and convince my wife we need to burn some points and fly up to that area and drink beer, …err, i mean watch the leaves change color. One of these days…

VT Day 2 - Amazing weather, awesome views and great beer at Hill Farmstead. No music playing, but I guess that fits the vibe.
I don't know why I was surprised that the last 2 miles was a dirt road. I feel like I should have expected that.

A few years ago I came up here to hit breweries, restaurants and to SUP on Lake Champlain. It was randomly leaf changing season and it was pretty impressive to see. If you use that as cover to hit breweries, it will actually work.

Looks like they had a pretty good crowd. When we went last summer there were only a few other people there. great venue and zero cell service.

Yeah. A lot more people than I expected on a Wednesday afternoon. Probably over 100. The sandwich tent had sold out of 4 of their 5 options and they had a single pastrami left when I walked by.
I had to wait until I got to Stowe to post, as my phone didn't work. I could even get maps to work, so I had to use my Jeep navigation to get out.

VT Day 3 - Getting on the road home today, so just did a quick pop in at Alchemist. I've had plenty of Heady and Focal over the years, so I didn't see any need to get those. I do love some Crusher, so I grabbed a couple. Figured it was silly to come in and not try something, so I had a quick Rapture. It was good, and fit with the general style they brew.
I've always found Alchemist to be a terrible vibe, like they purposely set it up so people won't hang out. Apparently in the past few years they have altered this, and now it is quite nice, with a good outdoor area and multiple bars selling cans to drink onsite. Other times I've been in the past you could only get small draft pours of maybe 1-2 beers.

Beautiful. "Hill" is high on my bucket list of breweries, and I was already thinking about a Boston/VT trip next summer.
Go enjoy the falls themselves and then move on quickly. I am not a fan of the town…either side. Sorry not much help here.
Hope not to get banned from this thread for the following post. Upstate New York is gorgeous right now and enjoying some local beer plus the Shiner I always have shipped up to come visit family.
Utica Club Pilsner is a nice beer and the 1st sold legally after prohibition.
Rickard's Red is a Molson product and very tasty.
Sorry to include the Shiner on this site , but it is my favorite day in day out beer.

We've got 2 nights there. We're doing the full middle class package.
Boat rides and tours of the power plant are good. Very expensive for food / drink. Keep your phone and wallet in your front pocket

Not an IPA guy but couldn't pass this one up. War Horse Brewing Company. Worth a try…enjoy.

Went to Christmas in July at Saint Arnold today. Picked up a new tacker sign as well.
Pretty stellar imperial stout aged in port barrels from Hill Farmstead. Named after their dog.

Speaking of RRBC, hit up the Windsor patio yesterday with a long time friend of mine. Had a limited run west coast Pilsner that was a fun change up then a Blind Pig. Love the updates they made for their patio, way better for hanging out now.
