Family member said that they went in the local Specs this morning and they told him that they just got an email that stated that all their Russian vodkas would be discontinued.

Anyone else seeing this?

It's a protest against Russian actions in the Ukraine.

Putin doesn't act in a vacuum, he is in a consortium with oligarchs, so yes, vodka exports could aid the government.

a spot on my local news said, in America anyway, just a few % of vodka is russian.
Even many russian branded/named vodkas are not made there, like stoli for instance.

Met someone today who works for Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits. While they have Russian Vodka in their Distribution Centers, the retailers (like Spec's) aren't stocking it.

I saw that Stolichnaya is rebranding to just Stoli. Apparently the founder and owner had to leave Russia because of criticism of Putin and is moving to completely remove anything Russian from their supply chain. Too bad if true, but understandable.

Anyone ever drink Russian Standard vodka, prior to 2022?

I found this in the liquor store today. Sure looks like the same bottle, minus "Russian". Did they rebrand somewhere?
