What is the best brand of Gin and do you drink it in any way other than a Gin and Tonic?

When I still drank alcohol, I drank Hendricks
Extra dry martinis, Negronis, and gin fizzes are super yum

I alternate between Bombay Sapphire, Plymouth, and Botanist in Negronis. Sometimes I'll turn a bramble into a shaken sour as well.

Ford's Gin. It's terrific and a multiple purpose gin. Very high quality.

Got to go with Ford's or Tanqueray Rangpur. Both great in Gin and tonics- I can't stand vermuth so I sometimes add olives to my G&T!

Once I found Hendricks, I pretty much stopped trying others.

Ford's for the home bar, Hendricks when I'm out at a bar because lots of places don't carry Ford's.

This, and if you're willing to splash out for a 375ml distiller's cut, do it.

Edited for directors to distillers cut

I was unfamiliar, so googled it. It took me to M47's site with the age verification thingy. I just punched in all 1's for the date and it took me to a site for responsible consumption.

I've been dry for 1 month as of tomorrow, but I do know my spirits. I'll allow myself to celebrate at the end of July on my birthday though. I'm trying to break the cycle and not get in deep like I had been this last year.

This. Once you have Hendricks it's almost impossible to drink anything else

Oh I don't mind. I know more about scotch than most any other spirit. Just working on a reset to a hopefully more moderate normal.

Gun and tonics would be great if they didn't have tonic water in them. Can't stand that stuff.

Just give me some gin with some ice.

After bartending in college I swore off gin. I got so tired of not being able to wash the smell of gin off my hands that it just turned me off of it in general. Sometime last year I decided, what the hell, it's been over 20 years so I ordered a gin and tonic at a bar and it was delightful. I haven't had enough of them to say what's good and what isn't but Beefeater is cheap and I don't mind it in a gin and tonic.

I've been very happy with Nolet's Silver. Made by the Ketel One vodka people.

Beefeater in a dirty martini (blue cheese olives ftw).

Botanist and Cochi Americano for a negroni bianco.

I'll also give a plug to a local gin that's using different species of Texas junipers in places like the Davis Mountains, very cool and interesting (no connection, I just tasted it a couple of weeks ago and really liked it):

I really like Cotswalds dry gin but has been hard to locate in Houston liquor stores. Was my go to in the UK.

I have been a fan of gin since I was nine or ten years old and a waiter gave me a tall gin and tonic and the poor sap in the table next to us my 7up. I downed it as fast as I could because I knew I would be found out. All of the adults at the table (both tables) got a kick out of it. I drank Gordon's gin for years and never had any complaints. Tanqueray became popular at some point and gave buddies something to poke fun at me about still drinking my Gordon's which I preferred. Wifey bought some Bombay Sapphire several years ago and that is our go to now. Never been a fan of Hendricks. It's ok over ice but don't want cucumber flavor in all my gin drinks.

Current favorite gin drink: Corpse Reviver #2. Still love a tall gin and tonic with lots of lime on a warm afternoon though.
