Going go be staying on the Riverwalk Sat and Sun night to celebrate 35 years of marriage. It's thru sheer dedication and religious background that she's stuck with me for that long!!!

Restaurants don't need to be on the Riverwalk. We can and will be driving around during our stay. But we will have at least a few meals on the Riverwalk so a rec there would be helpful.

Looking for places within a reasonable drive (45 min or less). One meal will be a steak place. Don't know if SA has a great steak place, but if it does I'd love a rec.

Don't really care about price. Hole in the wall dumps are fine as are $150+per plate is fine as well.

I did post this on the San Antonio board as well.

Bohanans downtown for dinner. Boerne is a short drive for afternoon live music and brewery. The Pearl is also nice.

+1 for Bohannons for steaks. Off river walk steaks I'd say Myron's.

I agree if you wanted a steak Bohanan's

If you want seafood, Silo or Wildfish (Eddie V's)

Italian Tre Trattoria

Also if you're a foodie go to Pullman market they have a couple of places to eat in the market. We had some delicious Italian food where you could watch them make the noodles fresh. Had a great fresh fig and balsamic appetizer. Great lunch spot.

Cheese enchiladas go to Blanco Cafe.

Great burger go to Longhorn cafe on Blanco Rd or one of the Chester's Locations

French Brasserie go to Mon Chou Chou across from Hotel Emma Great brunch here as well.

For something different checkout Cured at the Pearl.

Deep fried snapper throats go to Southerliegh.

Clementine. Located Castle Hillsnot too bad of a drive. Seasonal Modern American cuisine. Owners couplehe's originally from NOLA and she does all the desserts (order at least two). Menu changes week to week. We like to sit at the kitchen counter where we have a first row seat for all the action.

Another vote for Myron's.

Also love Liberty Bar in King William south of downtown.

You've gotten SOLID recommendations.

- Bohanan's for steaks - swanky setting, great service, excellent steaks. Mark Bohanan is an Ag, by the way.
- I love the snapper throats at Southerleigh. They have other great items on the menu, but the snapper throats are special.
- Clementine is my favorite restaurant in town. Order the "Feed Me" menu. Seasonal multi-course menu, executed to perfection. This place is a gem.
- It's touristy, but La Fogata on Vance Jackson has great Mexican food, good margaritas, and a nice setting.

No Eddie V's down there, so I am a big fan of Morton's for Riverwalk…but, Eddie V's is within your 45 minute circle…

This place used to be really good. Teacher Wife '82 and I celebrated multiple anniversaries there…….but that tells you kt was at least 14 or more years ago.

Any specific Mexican place that is just a "you have to go there" place? I know there are a lot of Mexican restaurants.

Mi Tierra, while not the best Mexican food, is worth going to if you've never been, just because it is pure San Antonio and close to the Riverwalk.

Outside of downtown, but not too far, have always been a big fan of Los Barrios.

We did something similar a couple of years ago and as everyone is saying, Bohanans was a great option for steaks and walkable as it's near the Riverwalk (seems like you had to go to street level to get to it though? But it was right on the Riverwalk).

Also I really like La Fonda on Main for Mexican. Last time we were there, I ordered the outside skirt steak and it was really delicious. They have a beautiful courtyard in the back with lights up in the trees, best enjoyed as the sun is going down (which means a semi late dinner this time of year).

For chicken it doesn't get any better than Pollos Asados off of 410 at Rigsby.

Thanks for the recommendations. So far, we've eaten at
- La Fanda on Maim
- Casa Rio

Tonight it's Bohanan's.

Walking around this morning, saw this place

Devils River Whisky Distillery

I've had a lot of bourbons, but not that one. I do line good bourbons neat.

Is that place worth vacation time, or better off just hitting a bar for an old fashion?

Good luck at Bohanons. Last year we had a $1700 dinner for 5 that sucked ass. JPrime is my SA steakhouse now. Looking forward to hearing about your experience.

It was very good. I had the strip and my wife had the sea bass. Had cream brle for desert. They gave us complementary champaign for our anniversary. We then walked to the Alamo and then a stroll on the Riverwalk. Finished off the evening with an old fashion and finally some coffee.

Just a great evening.

Isidore is the best steak I've had in SA. Hands down.

Mon Chou Chou is an excellent selection as well, especially for brunch.

About 15 years ago I went to Bohanans. It was one of the best meals of my life and I say that as someone who has eaten at some fine establishments in America in Europe.
