Anyone make them, and have a recipe you Like? I usually use leftover dill pickle juice, but I'm trying a recipe from scratch for the first time. I'll test them out on Friday, after 4 days in the refrigerator.

Recipe I used called for:

- White Vinegar
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- water
- Pickling Spices
- Dill Seed
- salt
- pepper corns
- Sweet Onion
- Fresh dill
- Garlic cloves
And I added some red pepper flakes.

What's your recipe?

I've used the jarred pickling spice mix by Great Value from Walmart. Used the directions on the bottle to pickle cucumber, onions, hard boiled eggs, carrots. I liked it quite a bit.

That said, using leftover pickle juice gets me 90% of the way there without any of the fuss, so I just use that now. And..... we go through a LOT of pickles in my family (the kiddo and I love them).

I've done pickled eggs with beet juice. Depending how long you leave them in, the beet juice makes a gradient appearance on the egg white. It looks cool and doesn't make the egg taste like beets too much.

Thanks for the responses guys. I've done the left over dill pickle juice before, but have been wanting to try something different now. I saw several recipes for the beets, but I've never been a beets fan. Maybe nice just to add some color.

After tasting the batch I just made, it's not as flavorful as I had wanted. They're good, I need more dill, and some of the garlic and onion.
