Looking for a very specific whisky

I'm trying to source a very specific bottle of whisky for my dad for a tradition he started a few years ago. No substitute will do - it has to be this one.

The bottle is The Glenlivet XXV single malt, but it HAS to be in the wooden box. Glenlivet discontinued this a few years ago - the current edition says 25 instead of XXV and doesn't come in the wooden box.

I was just in Scotland and talked to people at a few specialty whisky shops who confirmed what I am looking for is no longer made. So the only option is to buy it on the secondhand/resale market. I was directed to a whisky auction site, but I have also been able to locate a couple of options for outright purchase.

My question is - has anyone here used a site called Must have Malts or DJC Trading Spirits? Both are based in Europe (DJC is in the UK). If you've used one of these sites, how does shipping to TX work? Must have Malts specifically says on their website that they can ship to TX, but I don't really understand how this is possible. Given the cost, I don't want to order without doing my homework.

Any experience is helpful.

And on the off chance anyone here has a bottle to sell - I'd be happy to share the reasons why we want this specific one (it's related to the recent Artemis mission), and maybe we can work out a deal.

Can't speak for those specifically, but ive had whiskey/bourbon shipped to me with no issues. Just have to sign for it...assuming the delivery person actually even cares enough to make you sign.

Can't help you, but that post really stirs up a lot of curiosity. Wish we could know more…
