He can play in Turkey.
Yes. If he was able to get some minutes on the Lakers probably he could make a roster in Turkey. Absolutely correct.Quote:

Not athletic enough to get to the rim in the NBA and his size for an off-the-ball player (and he isn't an NBA PG) is nothing special.

He has a lot of intangibles and I would think should be able to make some good money overseas, which means he is better at basketball than 95% of the population out there. Just don't see him as able to stick with an NBA roster.

The way he developed an NBA-quality three pointer is a testament to his hard work. He boosted his shooting percentage despite a longer 3pt line and taking more shots per game. Humorously, it also shows the ridiculousness of the "Kennedy can't improve players' shooting!" argument that people trot out when our ft shooting bites.
I didn't think he'd ever step on the court in a regular season game. Love that I'm wrong, and really, really love that he's getting minutes as the primary ball handler after years of "he's not a true point guard!" criticism on this board.
Deputy Travis Junior said:
You don't think so? On several occasions, we've had posters say that Kennedy can't improve our poor ft shooting or build a semi-decent offense because he doesn't have 3pt shooters. Obviously you can't fix everyone, but a good shot doctor and a whole lot of practice can do a lot for both.
Anyway, not interested in derailing a pretty funny bump full of so much fail, but it did make me laugh a bit that our "not a true point guard" is now playing PG in the nba.

Except for the part where he is listed as SG by both ESPN and Yahoo Sports. The team site only lists "Guards".
I would offer that Kennedy wins with better talent and doesn't appear to significantly improve more moderately talented players and especially not offensively. I'll concede more moderately talented players do with work visibly improve on defense.
That Alex got coaching after leaving A&M proves very little about Kennedy. And we don't know how much coaching he purchased that improved his shot touch during school.
Are we sure we want to use poor substantiation to attack folks that have honest, well-grounded opinions about Kennedy? Sounds like you didn't do absolutely any research before taking shots.
I'm happy to admit I was wrong in saying he had no shot.monkeyaround said:

I think you may be overemphasizing the resources allocated to undrafted free agents like Caruso toiling around in the D-League, making salaries somewhere around $20,000 to $26,000 a year.jml2621 said:
Alex learned to shoot in the NBADL. That's exactly what it's for. To take prospects and develop them for the NBA. then apply the skills in summer league for display. Alex is a hard worker and willing learner.

Caruso himself said that the facilities and travel perks that he had while in college at Texas A&M were far better than what he had in the NBADL. He described the D-League as a place where you needed a ton of self discipline and individual drive. The NBADL is a meat grinder where nobody who is playing there actually wants to be there. There are a ton of players in that league who are just trying to get noticed.
Caruso's shooting gradually improved each season while he was at Texas A&M. I remember speaking briefly with his dad for a couple of minutes the summer before his junior season, and Alex's summer shooting regimen at that time required 50,000 made 3-pointers.
Then he went pro and obviously hoops became a full-time job plus he was playing against generally older, bigger, better competition than he was in college. And then you either sink or swim. And I don't think the NBA guys give a hoot if a guy like Caruso sinks. There is an endless supply of undrafted free agents trying to get noticed.
I personally give all of the credit to Caruso for getting as far as he has. While he no doubt got some advice and pointers here and there from NBADL coaches, the success and failure of his career was pretty much all on him.
If the Oklahoma City affiliated coaching staff were able to do a 'girl to man' shot transformation of undrafted free agent Caruso within just a few weeks of getting their hands on him (he started playing for the Oklahoma City Blue in Nov. 2016 after leaving the College Station campus - no participation in summer league - and proceeded to shoot 40.1% from three point range for them during their 2016-2017 season), then you'd think by now after 4 years of having him on their roster and paying him millions of dollars, that they would have figured out how to get their starting SG Andre Roberson's shooting percentage above 25%.Method Man said:

Unrelated to Caruso but talking about college players getting to the NBA and how their shooting may or may not improve....Sixers fans are already starting to hit the panic mode with their shiny new #1 NBA draft pick Markelle Fultz...who according to the sixers 'on his own' decided to change his shooting form during the summer with disastrous results thus far.

I am proud to count myself with those that provided Alex with the chip on the shoulder he needed to prove me wrong...
Pretty sure he never scored that much at a&m. I bet he had less than 10 games total where he scored 20+ points.Seven Costanza said:
