My days of pressing are very dated, but we ran full court a lot when i played. We also shot a lot of threes, were undersized and pressing was the way to get an advantage. If we got into a half court game, we got destroyed. That said, the key on pressing on misses as that tended to be the bigger turnover potential. Challenge with that is that your bigs are presumably in the worst location for pressing while your wings are likely too far back. It does lead to going over the top a lot, but its a percentage game. Provided we can hit 30-35% of our threes and we dont have a lot of dumb three attempts coming from our bigs, we can give up a little rebounding position to get into press coverage position. I highly doubt we are a good offensive rebounding team, but we will turnover the other team a lot more than we did. Its an exchange I will take. Also, will be interesting to see how often we shoot threes off turnovers and with numbers, rather than getting to the basket. Its the exchange of make press vs miss press and long rebounds that lead to over the top easy buckets for the other team. Lots to watch for this year.
