This is no surprise to me. I've known for years that he was a POS. I think this is where I would be tempted to say 'I told you so'.

If Buzz had stayed, Rice would've been an Aggie. That's how the recruiting game works in basketball.
The only two I was hoping we could retain were Payne and Solo. Seems like we did just fine finding suitable replacements. Have fun in Maryland!

Recruits need to be able to shoot to play Bucky Ball
It was best for all that he left. He/we all knew this year would be brutal as everyone had left except for a few players. He cant recruit nor try to recruit any players who can shoot. He got us to the tournament a few times but underacheived and the product he put on the floor was just hard to watch. The kids were fine and they bought into it, but im sorry no one wants to watch that style of basketball. I couldnt watch it on tv there were just so many things that were brutal about it, t/o's, missed fts, wide open 3's, t/o's again, lack of shooting. Bucky is the complete opposite and understands that you need to be outgoing to get additional support and money. I think we are gonna be great with Bucky.

Agreed. He's a basketball curmudgeon. He never got any Aggies squad to the second weekend of the tourney.

The grass is greener on the other side and the jury is still out on Bucky ball. I won't be convinced until I see it work in the SEC, but I've got to give him credit for coming and generating momentum thus far.
Editing to add: we're still talking about BCG, Turgeon and BK just like they were here last season. Buzz will be talked about ad nauseum too.
It's 2028, we're cutting down the nets for our first national championship, many of us are in the building weeping tears of joy and hugging strangers. The impossible has become reality. Five people are still on TexAgs talking about how a Buzz team would have bricked the game winning shot.
I think I'll always remember Buzz as the coach a lot of fans wanted who was less good than the other coach that went to Maryland…
Obviously we're all still gonna talk about aspects of it. We should! We're coming off a really good three year run! And one that also had some annoying parts that held us back. But I just mean the constant complaining or couching everything good this team does as being opposite of what Buzz did or whatever. We can just be happy to move forward right?

Hasn't coached a game yet
Can't wait till people move on. Not everything has to be a comparison. Buzz had a good run, but like every fanbase when someone leaves have to justify him leaving by smearing him on the way out. At some point just appreciate the great moments he did bring us. Two Sec title games. An all time great Aggie player in Wade taylor. 97 wins in 4 years. But like move on. It's a new era

All I can say is, Maryland fans are going to be really damn disappointed. His no set play rebound the brick brand of basketball won't last 3 years there.

This "story" is a huge nothing burger. I guess Buzz really should have let the guy commit to A&M that day and then announced his move to Maryland that night.
Please @ me when Bucky makes three straight NCAA tournament appearances. Not saying it won't be done but, the grass ISN'T always greener on the other side.

Every coach we've had in the last 20 years has been successful. Not sure why anyone would think Bucky would be any different.
I appreciate Buzz for the run we had and the group of core players that we had through it (Wade, Hank, Andy, Solo, etc.). But I was also tired of the press conferences, unnecessary losing streaks, and the brutal style of offensive basketball we played. Both things can be true.
I also think it's true throughout his career that he gets players to commit to him and not necessarily the school he's coaching at. No surprise that he was recruiting kids for himself even while he was our coach, and that really doesn't bother me, in my opinion that's just college sports.
In general I'll look back at the Buzz years in a positive light, but also really excited for the breath of fresh air that we're gonna see in a few days. It was time for a change, and message board hate for Buzz afterwards isn't necessary.
Anyway, that's my last break up post. Ready for Bucky Ball brought to you by Bucee's.

But to answer your question, other than random comments, the Buzz talk will fade into the background 5-10 games into the season.

Which is still good, and in the end you feel good about it, but it just didn't quite match the hype you'd built up in your head to start. She also had some super annoying habits that were making you wonder if this was really going to work out but you couldn't really afford to break up with her because you signed a lease together but then she breaks up with you and you get to move out and you're off the hook.

So true here. Much enjoyment watching some of this group, especially Hank and Andy. Glad I was able to witness the way they embraced Aggieland!!!
