Montana coach had a good point, on defense we fall asleep when we're not on the ball. Late rotations leading to a lot of wide open looks.

Unfortunately i don't have SEC N+ so just watching play by play or would probably be posting more
Lot of credit to Dominguez on being coachable. Those first few 3 games or so, he was parked at the three point line, which isn't necessarily what Bucky wants. Pretty sure they told him to put the ball on the floor and attack more to open up the offense, and he is doing that very well tonight.

This is where you can tell we're not there yet on playing this style for 40 minutes. We definitely aren't mentally locked in all the time yet.
It's not terrible so far. Defense gets lost a little bit. Need to go back and do the shell drill over and over again. Offense sometimes stands and watches. We need to follow our shots. It's a basketball court, not a museum. I don't want to see any standing and admiring.
Give me the guy who shoots for excellence and fails over the guy who shoots for mediocrity and succeeds.

Rylan Griffen was really the missing piece on last years squad and instead rotted on Kansas's bench I hate it

I'm ready to see how Mgbako changes this team. His length alone will hep.
I don't think he'd even get on the court under Buzz with how he plays defense. But he's doing better tonight, this is his best game by far so far.

His defense has been fine this season. I have a lot of gripes on other guys more than him
Griffen? His defense has mostly been absolutely non existent. He's just kinda tall. But yeah it's not like we're fielding a roster of great defenders.
I mean maybe it's because my defensive expectations for him were non-existent. I don't think it's been that bad

It's not as noticeable as some other players because he's not catastrophically bad when he's on the ball but he floats out of position a lot. Ends up doing the Savion Flagg trademarked floating in space not really guarding anyone move.
But again, better tonight, maybe he's figuring it out. We need him to be a lot better than he's been if we're gonna do anything.

I wish we could access the lineup data. Feels like when Vinson has been out there we've looked better. He's a team high +16

It's just bad defense, and it's been like this through 5 games. Over helping and getting out of position. The guards are the worst at ball watching off the ball.

We have thrown some truly wild lineups out tonight to try seeing what works. Everything still looks so clunky. Clearly a team that just hasn't played together.
