I was at CCAD for my first "real job" after retiring from the Army in 2001. I have been on TexAgs since well before the Bonfire collapse, including when everyone had to create a new account. I was originally "Stuck in Egypt, Missing the Game", then changed to CCAD Ag when I was in Corpus. That only held true for 6 months before moving to Waco. Haven't changed my handle since then, even though I'm now on the Mississippi Coast for what my wife and I swear will be our LAST move.

I love the Metra system in Chicago and its surrounding areas. It is an efficient and effective way for Chicago commuters and tourists to get into, around, and out of the city and its surrounding suburbs. I also like that the Metra locomotives are named after the cities, towns, and villages they serve in Chicagoland, such as this #175 locomotive representing the Village of Worth.

This is what I envision as a classic American locomotive. I love this design, and so, apparently, did Walt Disney...

Wikipedia: "Central Pacific 173"
Central Pacific 173 was a 4-4-0 (a steam locomotive with a wheel arrangement of four leading wheels on two axles, four powered and coupled driving wheels on two axles, and no trailing wheels) "American" type steam locomotive, built by Norris-Lancaster for the Western Pacific Railroad in 1864. ... It subsequently became the prototype for the railroad's engines when the CP began constructing locomotives. The engine was successful, and more engines were built to #173's design.

In the 1950s, its blueprints became the basis for a miniature railroad built by Hollywood movie studio owner and railroad enthusiast Walt Disney, who had a 1:8 replica built by the studio's machine shop. The Lilly Belle which resulted was widely copied by other "live steam" hobbyists and became the basis for the future Disneyland theme park's miniature railroad's engine, the C. K. Holliday. The engine itself also served as the basis for Engine No. 2 in the Disney animated short films The Brave Engineer, Out of Scale, and A Cowboy Needs a Horse.
...

You grew up in the best years ..."the good ol' days" if you know what this is...

Side Note---thank the Lord for indoor theaters because if we had stayed the course of family movie nights at the drive-in I would never had heard the lines in the movie. The reason for my lack of movie sound recognition was do to a family condition known as "2 older sisters." This condition caused me to be shoved into the backseat and told to watch the picture and imagine the words while my 2 older sisters hogged the speaker. I didn't know what Star Wars was truly about until Empire came out and I got to see it indoors. Ahhhhh sibling love! Lol
