Final UL: 10 Texas A&M: 8. We'll see them again Sunday to close out the invitational.

Dang, we go from a perfect game to giving up 10 runs. a little more balance would have been good!!

The first four innings of the ULL game may have been the most brutal innings I've seen the Aggies play. It's really easy to point out what went wrong, but there's so much more to the games than what box scores or even game threads tell you. Here's a few thoughts I figured this thread would appreciate more than the bleeding going on in the premium gameday thread:

Catchers:
-Sauni made 2 errors that cost two runs. She was pulled during the pitching change that Ford made when taking Peters out of the game. Sauni immediately joined her teammates and cheered loudly the remainder of the game. When the Ags mounted a comeback, she cheerfully led the team in yells. For someone who played their worst game of their career, I think it speaks volumes of her future leadership capacity.

-Coleman came in during a pitching change since Sauni's two errors cost two runs. She anxiously made another throwing error that cost the Ags a 3rd run. Absolutely brutal. Coleman bounced back and got a single after striking out when leading in the count. She's got to find some offense somewhere.

- Baldwin just doesn't seem to get consistent enough AB's. It's got to be tough for her to be pinch hitting and be expected to produce day to day, but there is no front runner at catcher. It's a position that's yet another weak spot.

Fielding: The box score is going to tell you 13 hits when it could have easily been 8 or 9 if the outfielders make some tough catches on balls that were torched and/or blooped. We had upperclassman all over the OF. I wonder if we see Mathis in the OF in the near future. To me, she seems like the one with enough range for CF. If those errors don't happen, perhaps Peters gets deeper in the game and the whole narritive is different.

Pitching: too many issues to mentioned, but TF put nearly everyone out there. I really want to know what the story is with Taylor Brown

Coaching: I want y'all to know that when the Ags were down 7-0 after the 4th. Coach Ford called the whole team into the tunnel, when the team came out, they looked a bit stoic and I'm sure they got ripped. They proceeded to score 8 runs in 3 innings. Ford moves around the dugout a lot. She's always talking to hitters and pitchers when they come off the field. Idk if many fans can see that, but her passion comes into question and I just don't get it.

Tough loss, so many things to work on, but I still believe in this team because they didn't quit in a game that they were nearly run ruled in. They found a way and I think that's the sign of a good team.
