A little unusual to see the Jayhawks playing the Froggies in a non-conference tilt. They won't meet in a Big XII series this season. They open the Big XII this weekend against the tards, so I'm assuming they are down here on Spring Break, I wish we would try to get these snowbird schools to play at Olsen for midweeks when down here for other series instead of the usual suspects we always see year in and year out.

Arizona and Arizona State play a non conference game tomorrow and another in April. They do play a conference schedule in between but due to travel distance for mid week
games they're playing these 2 non con games. Nothing to do with the SEC obviously but somewhat related to the KU TCU situation.

Not all that unusual for same state schools in the same conference to play games that don't count in the conference standings. Ole Miss and State do this every year at a neutral site. Auburn and Bama did also for several seasons, not sure why they stopped. Okie State and OU did so also when they were both in the Big XII. I was hoping A&M and sippie would play a midweek neutral site game when the joined the SEC but of course POS ended that idea for the foreseeable future.

The issue the Arizona schools have is it's only them and GCU in state so midweek travel is longer. How would you feel about the Aggies playing on the tournaments outside Texas early in the season?

I did not think about that with Arizona and Arizona St. but it makes sense since it is difficult for tech to get quality midweek games in Lubbock. For a few seasons tech was willing to travel for example out to California to play Stanford and Biloxi to play Mississippi St. in two game series. Stanford did a return trip. This year they don't have any such trips nor any "big name" programs making the trip to the high plains for midweeks but do have UTSA (2 games) and DBU (seem to be down this year).visiting.

Not opposed to the Aggies playing an early season tournament outside of Texas although I don't think it is likely to happen when we have several quality ones in Texas to choose from.

As an Aggie following Aggie baseball while living far away but going back to the Doug Rau days I really appreciate your posts on this board. Selfishly I'd love to see us play the MLB showcase here in Phoenix.

Ahh, didn't realize that. This past weekend was a complete whirlwind for me and haven't caught up on much. Didn't even realize tit was a 4-game series, lol.
