As already mentioned, UT-Austin has a presence in Round Rock and other cities, which is common for large state universities. They don't advertise themselves as UT-Round Rock-Austin.

The use of "Bryan-College Station" for advertising is especially weird considering all of the events they're promoting (baseball, football, etc.) take place solely in College Station. It's just strange.

For Texas A&M athletics, it's College Station. All of the main venues Kyle Field, Olsen Field, Reed Arena, and Davis Diamond are located there. "Bryan-College Station" is a regional or marketing label and doesn't change where games are played.

What about Texas A&M Golf? Traditions Golf Course home of Texas A&M Golf is in the City of Bryan.

I always thought the "new" mention of Bryan is because the RELLIS campus of Texas A&M University is in entirely in Bryan, which hasn't always been the case. The campus was annexed by Bryan in 2019. Since part of the local campus is in College Station, and part in Bryan, both are listed.

Also false. The RELLIS campus is not part of Texas A&M University. It's a TAMU System campus.

But the Health Science Center is part of the University and it is located in Bryan, Texas

This has been discussed to death, but it's a pet peeve of mine. The Texas A&M campus is not "in" College Station. It is in an unincorporated part of Brazos County and, since the mid/late 1940s 1938, has been surrounded by College Station.

This is false. The main campus is located in College Station city limits, including Blue Bell Park.

Actually your statement is the false one. The contiguous Texas A&M campus is actually located between the city limits of College Station and Bryan bordered by both, including Olsen Field.

I graduated from A&M. Live in Bryan. As a student lived in both Bryan and College Station at different times.
I shop and conduct business in both.
The towns have been closely intertwined socially and economically for a long time and there is a long history between the two.
Not sure why anyone would even care about this one way or the other.

Nice. Rec center getting built. Pedestrian bridge in the background. Kyle Field with no endzone stands. Old Army.

Nah, Old Army was when the baseball field was crammed up against the southwest corner of Kyle Field.

It's sort of amusing that Bryan is claiming College Station.

In 1876, the college was intentionally placed 12 miles away from Bryan, as the city was known to be.a hotbed of sinful activity from which they wanted to keep the students. Picture wooden sidewalks, saloons, and drunken shootouts on Saturday night.

You know, like now.

And to be the "ackshully" guy, it was a trolley that ran from campus to Bryan. I believe it ran down present day College Avenue, at least through WWII

Nope. FAA told Dallas and Ft Worth that they wouldn't continue to fund individual airports for each, and the cities began planning DFW in 1966

Southwest was founded in 1967

Grapevine International does have a nice ring to it.

So does Irving International.

I don't like HEB (Hurst Euless Bedford) International, but it could work.
Plus, now that the grocery store is up there, it would really be confusing when someone said they were dropping someone off at HEB.

So, I believed an apocryphal story all these years that HEB was Harold E. Butt?

It's interesting to follow the passion on this one... but yea I'm kind of like Bryan is part of the TAMU experience so might as well say 'thanks' and include them as part of the family

Cavitt Ave., not South College. The tracks were still visible at least into the early 80's.

As someone who lives here in the B/CS area, it doesn't bother me about the "Bryan/College Station" name.

Bryan has come a long ways from where it was in the 90's and 2000's. It has really stepped up in some areas that contribute to what makes Texas A&M so great.

So...Is this a local vs. out-of-towner argument? Curious where the locals stand on this and those that travel in...how do you feel about the B/CS name?

I like saying Bryan-College Station. I love how the main campus is in college Station and the 2,400 acre RELLIS campus is in Bryan. I love how eight of the A&M colleges now call Bryan home. I love how Bryan in the past 10 years has cut "Part1"!crime almost 60% and for nearly 10 years has enjoyed less part1 crime than our also safe friends in College Station. I love the music and historic cultural district in downtown Bryan, Midtown Park, Legends Event Center, topGolf, and Lake walk.. two cities one community. Of course, both cities are better off with the other right next to it. If only we could merge the cities there would be less of this Petty bickering and more communitywide pride and loyalty in BCS and Aggieland!

Not that it really matters but...

Because it's collectively owned by Both Dallas and Fort Worth. That's also why you hear the occasional recorded greetings played over the PA from whomever happens to be the Mayor of Dallas and Mayor of Fort Worth.

It's split between Dallas and Tarrant County but is also in falls inside of Coppell, Euless, Irving, and Grapevine (sorry Hurst and Bedford). To complicate matters even more, it has it's own post code and city designation. As far as the USPS is concerned it's located in DFW Airport, TX 75261.

All that doesn't really matter because the entire airport property doesn't really fall under the jurisdiction of any of the cities it sits in. It's controlled by the D/FW Airport Board which also maintains it's own separate fire, police, and EMS service.

And all of that is just north of where Amon Carter Field/Greater Southwest International Airport used to be. Just south of the 183/360 interchange. Up until about 2010, you could still see the old runways on aerial maps
