Seems like we need another MB and Opp from high school or portal?

I think most of our girls will finish as top 75 players, not that rankings matter. Gabi will be a top 20 player before the season is over! She's legit. I think she will be our first all American at libero

I'm sure 2026 recruiting may be done. I think we could potentially add about 5 portal players next off season! So that mixed with our young talent should be fun to look out for!

2027 recruits can officially be offered starting a June 15th! So June and July we should add some pieces for the future!

Would be amazing to have a top libero. They make a huge difference. I was at a lovb match where the Asian international liberos put on a showcase. Every dig was a perfect pass to the setter.

Agreed! I think Gomez had a chance to be that first potential all American had she got another season. She was as legit as they get. It's been a long time since we've had anyone be close to a top libero or passer in our conference. Kelsey Black started off as a libero, and led us to one of the greatest 3-0 upsets of TU. Megan Pendergast was a Nebraska transfer that was a top 50 recruit in the day. We finally have a coach who understands the importance of serve receive and defense. Bird and Corbelli used liberos/DS in walk on capacity only(minus Gomez). But to be fair, that was the way due to a small number of scholarships being avalible!

That said, Ava Underwood has developed into an amazing libero in her own right. Defense was a liability under the previous coach. Along with most others on the roster, Morrison has made her better each year. You can see her growth in ability and confidence.

Yeah that's what I love to see! She's grown so much!! I'll admit I would complain about her play 2 years ago, but the growth she brought into last season and the continued growth through the season, she looked so much more mature and confident! It was awesome to see! I'm sure she'll make another jump this year! Addi Applegate was underrated as well, but she was an All American by the end of her school year! Along with Tatum Thomas that's a strong group! Having Addi Applegate, Gabi Rodriguez, and Jenna Thedford next year should be amazing!! Thedford is a great Libero as well! It's gonna be a very talented back row for the Aggies!!!!

As noted before Brooke Lacewell and Gabi Rodriguez showed out at the Under Armour All American Camp in Dallas. They're on the UA All American watchlist and made the all camp team and camp mvp list along with several other top recruits across the nation!

One of the greatest liberos in the game ever for the USA was a OH for us before the libero became a thing.

We under the Corbellis looked for an OH to become libero at the beginning and then started to recruit specifically much later in their tenure. Bird got Gomez for a year. It was the need that made the Sweet 16 that year along with Hans moving up a major level. Much like Lednicky did last year and hopefully this season

All 5 of our 2026 commits and their club teams qualified to nationals, which will be in Dallas this year June 25th - July 3rd

I'm assuming after their performances at the UA Invite Brooke Lacewell and Gabi Rodriguez will skyrocket in the rankings! Hopefully they and our other recruits can put on a show at nationals!

Good to see we have announced it too, given the other SEC schools that already announced.

Good tip to avoid the Convention Center during that time period. The traffic will be insane!

I didn't grow up in the volleyball world and have no kids yet. I'm always baffled by how many teams they squeeze into these tournaments! I can only imagine the nightmare stories of club volleyball many on her have experienced lol

I remember coaching a 15-Under team in a tournament outside Philly. They were running multiple sites and each site had multiple courts. Was definitely a logistic hurdle as participant in the tournament.

My wife and I are so glad we are done done done with club volleyball. First year free of it after about 10 years in the system. With a competitive player, you only get maybe November off each year between school and club seasons. Otherwise you are playing through June if you go to nationals immediately followed by club tryout and then school tryouts then school season.

I enjoyed watching my kids play at whatever level they are at. But I have no idea why some parents even do it. So many are selfish and only care for their own kid and to hell with the team. So many parents and players who were cancers to the team. Terrible coaches who can't see that cancer staring right at them to win at all cost. Doesn't even matter if the level of play is good or bad. And then comes the club politics...

Yes I have a lot of stories as a club parent, some good, many not so good!

Depending on the level of play and if the club has clout, we've played in tournaments where each day was at a different site, the wave started at 7:30am and our team required hotel is on the other side of the city!

The big clubs tend to get to stay in the hotel that is directly connected to the main venue where all the college coaches watch.

Dang that's crazy, politics and favors seem to take over everything, I can imagine how much of that is in the volleyball world! I'm a private coach for track, so not as intense as club volleyball, but similar issues with crazy parents at times as well! It's sad to see some parents who force their kid to treat a sport as a job and even make the kids only care about themselves too! Some parents really take the fun out of it all.

I've coached club volleyball and played for many years, it's all politics. Especially the higher up you go. AJV, AP, TAV, Skyline. You literally pay to play. It does take a certain talent level to make the top teams, but money does talk during evaluations

Club swimming is a little different as you have time standards that determines what level you're at. There's always politics but at least the cutoff for travel team is more objective than subjective.
