Carson conquers injury scare in 57-7 victory

Injuries are part of the game.

That’s understood at every level of football. Players know it. Coaches know it. Parents, who allow their sons to play pee wee football, know it, too.

Usually, the rewards — fun, camaraderie, teamwork, adulation of fans — far outweigh the risks.

But there are indeed risks.

A frightening reminder of that came early in the fourth quarter of Texas A&M’s 57-7 victory over UTEP on Saturday night as medical staff gathered around Tra Carson.
