Except for that $1.7 million salary, comfortable seat in the press box and a plush home in Tennessee, Texas A&M Defensive Coordinator John Chavis is just like you.

He, too, is eager to see how the Aggies' defense will perform Saturday night against Arizona State in the football season opener.

“We've had a physical fall practice and we're tired of hitting each other,” Chavis said Tuesday afternoon. “We want to compete with somebody else. We've got a feel for where we are and we'll find out a lot about our team Saturday night."
