Aggies look to utilize tight end for added versatility, physicality on offense

The tight end position has been a non-factor at A&M in recent years, but that should change under new head coach Jimbo Fisher that should change. The tight end can create mismatches across the board, something former A&M head coach R.C. Slocum knows well.

There’s just something sexy about a good tight end.

It can produce stronger running, more completed passes and enhanced possibilities of scoring. If used correctly, a tight end adds versatility and physicality to a football team.

Tight ends provide an additional big-bodied blocker for the running game. It causes matchup problems in the passing game. It widens the defense, which creates more room to run. It makes pass rushers have a longer path to the quarterback.
