Last Friday in my Tale of the Tape article, I said Saturday’s game against Auburn was critical in the long term for this program going forward.

A six-year coach losing at home to a first-year coach in the early stages of rebuilding on the plains of Alabama would not be a good narrative to start the 2023 SEC schedule, especially staring down the barrel of Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee over the next three Saturdays.
