The recruiting action never stops, and there has been plenty of movement around the state of Texas. It is time once again to dive into the latest news, notes and headlines.

Headlines
Mustangs on a roll – SMU has been on a run in recent weeks with eight commitments since DeSoto S Markel Ford and Mesquite Poteet DT Keith Dotie committed on April 25. In the last few days, OL Pupungatoa Katoa gave his pledge, while New Orleans WR Jakai Anderson flipped from LSU. Most recently, LB Markel Dabney of Richmond, VA, has announced his decision. The recent additions also include Kaufman wide receiver Aljour Miles and Duncanville DB Braylon Edwards, and they also hit home in Houston with Edge and former TCU commit Amontre Harris. On Thursday, the Mustangs have a chance for more momentum as North Forney CB Ryan Gilbert announces between SMU, Oklahoma and Houston.
Kohen Brown decommits from USC – The Waxahachie 2026 wide receiver announced he was re-opening his commitment last week. Brown originally committed to USC in early April. He received an offer from Notre Dame shortly before he decommitted, and he has since scheduled official visits to Notre Dame and Baylor.

New Name to Know
DE Sedrick Marsh, Waxahachie (TX) – 2027
Checking in at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, Marsh is just scratching the surface. He prides himself on a determined work ethic and a blue-collar mentality.
There may not be much tape yet, but it does not take long to see his explosive abilities as he goes through drills. Throw in his length and growth potential, and it is a recipe for college attention.
Marsh received his first offer in April from LSU, and Arizona, UNLV and SMU all offered before the end of the month. Missouri offered on May 1, and Jacksonville State followed a few days later. This week he reached double digit offers with Texas A&M, Purdue, Houston, and Colorado State all offering. He says LSU, SMU and A&M are currently showing the most attention. He has not taken any visits yet.
He may be new to football, having only played for four years, but his athleticism has turned heads over the years. Now he is solely focused on football and life on the gridiron. Football is in his blood, too. His brother, Ty Marsh, was a standout at Denton Ryan and is currently a defensive back at Nicholls State.
