Around Aggieland (7/11)

On Friday, Kaylee Dreyer took us Around Aggieland as Texas A&M football gears up for SEC Media Days and A&M hoops head coach Bucky McMillan continues to add to his staff. In addition, the SEC released its preseason volleyball poll.

Football
Texas A&M football’s head coach Mike Elko has been named to the Dodd Trophy Preseason Watch List. This trophy celebrates the head coach of a team who succeeds, while also stressing scholarship, leadership and integrity.

Continuing on with football, next week begins SEC Media Days in Atlanta, Ga., and Texas A&M will be represented by head coach Mike Elko, senior Will Lee III, and two of the three captains, Ar’maj Reed-Adams and Taurean York.

Basketball
Texas A&M men’s basketball head coach Bucky McMillan continues to add to his staff with the addition of assistant coach Dave Good. He begins his journey in Aggieland after spending the last 10 seasons on Coach McMillan's staff at both Samford and Mountain Brook High School.

Volleyball
The SEC Preseason Coaches’ Poll was announced, and Texas A&M volleyball is projected to finish third in the league. Two players were also named to the 2025 Preseason All-SEC Team, those being Logan Lednicky and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla. This marks Lednicky’s third season being on the preseason All-SEC team and Cos-Okpalla’s second season.

Women’s Golf
The Texas A&M women's golf team was selected to take part in the second annual NB3 Matchplay at Twin Warriors Golf Club Oct. 7-8 against New Mexico, New Mexico State and Arizona. This round-robin features 36 holes of match play on the first day, playing against one team each day.
