On Monday, Callie Garner took us Around Aggieland as fall camp kicks off this week, and the Aggies landed a big commitment from 6-foot-7 TE Evan Jacobson. Meanwhile, Blake Labuda joins Texas A&M baseball, and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla is in Mexico with Team USA.
Football
Fall camp is officially underway, as the Aggies report on Tuesday and hold their first practice on Wednesday. Texas A&M opens the 2025 season in 33 days at Kyle Field.
Texas A&M has received a verbal commitment from Waukee (Iowa) tight end Evan Jacobson. The 6-foot-7, 230-pound prospect is considered one of the top recruits in the Midwest and chose the Aggies over Stanford, Notre Dame and Iowa State.
Baseball
In baseball, the Aggies picked up a transfer commitment from UT Tyler catcher Blake Labuda. The senior hit .321 with seven home runs and a .997 OPS last season and has one year of eligibility remaining.
Volleyball
Middle blocker Ifenna Cos-Okpalla has been named to the U.S. Women’s U23 National Team for the Pan American Cup in Mexico. It marks her first national team selection following a standout 2024 season in which she recorded 161 blocks and 228 kills while hitting .374.
Cos-Okpalla earned AVCA All-America honors and was named to the AVCA Player of the Year Watch List and Preseason All-SEC Team. She is one of 12 athletes representing Team USA in the country’s first U23 Pan American Cup appearance.
