On Monday, Callie Garner took us around Aggieland as punter Tyler White earned a spot on the Ray Guy Watch List, the Aggies picked up their first 2027 QB commit, and Texas A&M volleyball star Ifenna Cos-Okpalla led Team USA to gold at the U23 Pan American Cup.

Texas A&M punter Tyler White was named to the Ray Guy Award Preseason Watch List, which honors the nation’s top collegiate punter.

White was a semifinalist for the award in 2024 after leading all freshmen with a 44.9-yard average, ranking fifth in the SEC. He placed 25 punts inside the 20-yard line and allowed just three returns for a total of 14 yards.

The Southlake, Texas, native earned SEC All-Freshman honors and was a three-time SEC Special Teams Player of the Week. He was also named the Ray Guy Punter of the Week following a standout performance against then-No. 8 LSU. White enters the 2025 season as one of the top punters in the country.

Football Recruiting
On the recruiting front, Texas A&M landed its first commitment in the class of 2027 over the weekend from Georgia quarterback Jayce Johnson‍.

Volleyball
Texas A&M’s Ifenna Cos-Okpalla helped lead the United States U23 national team to a Pan American Cup title with a sweep of Canada in the final Friday, capping a 5-0 run through the tournament.

Cos-Okpalla was named Tournament MVP and best blocker in her national team debut, totaling 51 points, 31 kills, 17 blocks and three aces. In the semifinal against host Mexico, she delivered a 23-point double-double with 12 blocks and 11 kills to help send the U.S. to the championship match.

It marks the Flower Mound native’s first international title as she enters her senior season at Texas A&M.

Baseball
Former Texas A&M outfielder Braden Montgomery hit his first home run at the Double-A level Friday in a game against Rocket City.

Montgomery, who was selected No. 12 overall in the 2024 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox and later traded to the Chicago White Sox, was promoted to Double-A at the end of July.
