Last week went very well. A 4/5 and a 3/5 shows me that we’re on the right track. Now it is time to stack wins. Week 3 has some interesting non-conference games, but more importantly, it signifies the start of a real SEC slate. I’ve got some action on Aggies, Vols, Bulldogs and more! I am Irish after all, so maybe this is the week to really push my luck.
*Numbers are subject to change*
Aggie of the Week (1-1 Record)
QB Marcel Reed
MORE THAN 33.5 Rushing Yards
Other than the edge rushers for Notre Dame being really solid, I am having a tough time understanding why this number is so low. The only game in which he has started and did not reach this number since the beginning of last season was against Arkansas, where he was sacked three times. I anticipate this number moving quickly, so I’ll hop on it early.
Lineup of the Week
Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs
MORE THAN 0.5 Receiving Yards
This is a free square. You’d better believe that I’m throwing this in the lineup of the week.
Rocco Becht, QB, Iowa State
LESS THAN 43.5 Passing Yards on Longest Completion
Two things are true for Iowa State this week. First, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel are no longer catching passes for Becht. Secondly, for some reason, they are on the road against Arkansas State this week. Arkansas State has not allowed a passing play (in non-garbage time) to go for more than 41 yards in its first two games. The Razorbacks ran for over 300 yards on the Red Wolves, and I imagine the Cyclones stick to the ground game in this one and see their explosive plays in that area. This is a big number that is certainly volatile, but a must-play for me.
Nate Frazier, RB, Georgia Bulldogs
LESS THAN 61.5 Rushing Yards
Nate Frazier is a very effective SEC running back. However, Tennessee has a really solid front seven, and with CBs Jermod McCoy and Rickey Gibson III both out for this game, Georgia may attack Tennessee through the air with their revamped WR room. Not to mention, Frazier was still running the ball with five minutes to go in the game against Austin Peay and only mustered up 69 yards. I’ll take the less than on this one.
Marcel Reed, QB, Texas A&M
MORE THAN 33.5 Rushing Yards
For the same reason that he is my Aggie of the Week, I am rolling with QB1 in my lineup of the week.
Chris Brazzell II, WR, Tennessee
MORE THAN 3.5 Receptions
Brazzell has proved through two weeks exactly why the Vols made him a priority in the portal just a year ago. The Tulane transfer has 14 receptions through two games and is the clear favorite target for Joey Aguilar. Even if the catches aren’t for big bursts, you have to like the volume he has gotten early. A negative game script could also positively influence this number.
Other Dawson Selections
CJ Bailey, QB, NC State - MORE THAN 1.5 Passing TDs
Germie Bernard, WR, Alabama - MORE THAN 79.5 Receiving Yards (DEMON)
Parker Navarro, QB, Ohio - MORE THAN 128.5 Passing Yards
Darius Taylor, RB, Minnesota - LESS THAN 121.5 Rush + Rec Yards
Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, QB, California - MORE THAN 174.5 Passing Yards (GOBLIN)
