In case you forgot during your idyllic weekend without Fightin’ Texas Aggie football:

Mike Elko & Co. are still a top-10 team.

Idle in Week 4, Texas A&M (3-0) moved up one spot to No. 9 in the most recent Associated Press top 25.

Additionally, the Aggies moved up a spot to No. 9 in the US LBM Coaches Poll ahead of Week 5.

A&M is now the highest-ranked team located in the Lone Star State, with Texas at No. 10, Texas Tech at No. 12 and Texas Christian at No. 24.

A somewhat sleepy slate across the landscape, Week 4 featured just three ranked-vs.-ranked contests and just two SEC matchups. Further, the only top-25 teams that were upset were then-No. 9 Illinois (though now-No. 11 Indiana was actually favored in a 63-10 blasting of the Illini) and then-No. 16 Utah, which lost to the Red Raiders, 34-10.

In Week 5, 10 SEC teams are among the nation’s top 25 as the Aggies are joined by No. 4 LSU, No. 5 Georgia, No. 7 Oklahoma, No. 10 Texas, No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 17 Alabama, No. 18 Vanderbilt and No. 20 Missouri.

Returning from the bye, A&M welcomes Auburn to Kyle Field on Saturday to open conference play. The Aggies and Tigers will battle at 2:30 p.m. CT on Sept. 27.

Don't know whether us moving up was warranted, but okay. Also, I'd wager Auburn > Illinois.

This weeks game vs Auburn is not going to be easy.
I hope these rankings don't go to their heads.

I don't see a top ten team… at least not yet. But I hope to by the end of the season. Gig'em! BTHO everyone!
