Football
Last night, the first College Football Playoff rankings were released, and the Aggies landed at No. 3. There were six SEC teams in the top 12 and nine in the top 25.
The Aggies travel to take on Missouri this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Columbia, as Missouri came in at No. 22 in the initial Playoff ranking.
Volleyball
Ifenna Cos-Okpalla earned two conference awards for the third time this season, as she was named SEC Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week after Aggie volleyball beat two ranked teams.
It began on Friday when the Aggies beat Texas in a thrilling five sets to mark the highest-ranked home win for Aggie volleyball. They then traveled to Knoxville to take on the ranked Lady Volunteers and beat them in four sets.
Jamie Morrison and his team moved up three spots in the AVCA rankings to make the highest ranking in program history. Texas A&M volleyball will travel to Auburn on Friday to take on the Tigers and look for its 12th SEC win.
Men’s Basketball
Texas A&M men's basketball defeated Northwestern State in their season opener on Monday night, 98-68. This marked coach Bucky McMillan’s 100th career win and first of many as an Aggie. There were five players who ended with double figures, and Rubén Dominguez led the team with 18 points.
Women’s Basketball
The Aggie women’s basketball team kicks off its season tonight against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at home with 12 new players on their team and three returners.
