ESPN analyst David Pollack spoke highly of Johnny Manziel's Heisman candidacy at the College Football Awards on Wednesday, but revealed another bias pursuing the freshman. Is there any legitimacy to it?

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla.Johnny Manziel has faced so many obstacles in his quest for the Heisman Trophy.

He’s had to overcome SEC defenses. He’s had to overcome the bias against him for his status as a freshman. He’s having to overcome challenges from Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o, Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein and USC receiver Marqise Lee.

Apparently, he has to overcome a stigma of 2012, too.
