Seems like your daughter did great!!! About a month out till district meets! This is my favorite time of year for training with spring break coming up! More time to get practice and reps in! A meet like this is important because it has a regional meet feel to it! Only a couple more races before district! Safe travels and best of luck the rest of the season! My daughter ran in the 3200 meter race this afternoon and the wind was crazy. On her weather app that she uses for flying it said that sustained winds were 20mph and gusts of 30mph. It sure seemed like the gusts were constant. My daughter was about 20 seconds off her PR having to fight that headwind for 8 laps.

Around 12 minutes running in that type of wind is wild, so props to her! Maybe in a district or area or regional meet similar winds may happen and she'll have a leg up on the competition! Texas weather is wild! A couple meets ago we had 40 degree weather today where we're at it was in the high 90's lol! The elements are always a factor in outdoor track! Wish we could recruit a few folks at the high school meet here at A&m this past weekend. Some really fast times especially before the 20-35 mile winds that blew in at later half of final day. The wind was tough.

Brayden Williams with a 9.99 in the 100m No one was close to him!!

He's headed to Georgia! Georgia went all in and probably signed the greatest classes of all time on both the men and women side for next year! I'm scared of what they did, they also came in and grabbed a lot of talent from Texas…

Taylor Nunez jumped 20'3 this past weekend

Sophia Bendet ran a 4:42 mile at the New Balance Indoor Nationals! That is a huge time! Can't wait to have her here

Taylor Nunez 20'5 in the long jump in her district meet, also won the 100, 200, while teammate Sophia Bendet won the 800 and 1600

Jasiah Rivera went 13.51 to win his district meet and won the 300 hurdles as well

For Flower Mound Alexandra Fox ran a 5:02 mile and Ava Cole went 10:46 in the 3200 to advance to area

Gavin Chapa won the 1600 and 3200 and placed 2nd in the 800 at his district meet

Matthew Maldima went 10.39 and 21.13 to win his district!

I say some really solid pieces! The jumper from utrgv is pretty elite, I know him and his college coaches and he will flourish here in college station. The pole vaulter is a solid scoring option in conference right now. She is only 18 so 4 years of development and she can possibly turn into a national scorer. Our high school recruits are very solid. Sophia Bendet is one of the nation's best mid distance runners. She can help us tremendously in the 800/1500 and in a DMR. Taylor Nunez would be on our 4x100 today and could possibly be an elite jumper for us as well! Our distance recruits are solid! We'll lose a lot on the men's side so I feel like we'll attack the portal there especially for 400 runners!
