Just pisses me off as well as extremely sad. Here was a guy that was such a personality on the track, yeah fans of other drivers may have hated him, but damnit he was entertaining, not just a robot out there.

Kyle was so good for NASCAR and sports in general. We watched his entire adulthood play out. And like most, he developed as a human over that time. Too many held on to the Kyle hate from 15 years ago, but I really came to love watching him and hearing what he had to say on any topic racing.

I think Samantha was critical in his transformation. Her being so public about their pregnancy struggles forced him to be ok with being vulnerable and it helped.

He was a great heel in the first half of his career and then he became fun to root for in the 2nd half. His recent comments ****ting on Denny for what Denny said about him were great too.

This Sunday is going to be quite an emotional race

THAT is racing!! I "hated" the racer. I didn't hate Kyle Busch.
I hated him because he was a hard ass car for my favorite guy to race against.
His personality was a much needed part of the scene, and a rarity in the NASCAR of today.
He will be so missed!

way too young.

i always rooted for him, especially recently at RCR to get things turned back around.

I didn't like Kyle Busch for a long time because he seemed pretty ambivalent to who paid the bills. Don't get me wrong. I love that he would drive anything, anywhere, anytime and usually win, and that he cared about winning. But his surly interviews after races got to be a big turnoff. It seems like the JGR years might have been the worst. Maybe JGR was part of the problem. He seems to have renewed his image when he moved to RCR. I had regained a lot of like for the guy, but there were a few years where I would turn off the TV for his interviews because he demeanor was so off-putting.

Very sad news to hear of his passing. He was a great racer, and he left behind a family.

Reading more about it, sounds like a possible pulmonary embolism from his leg injury in January when he got 24 stitches after a stool he was standing on exploded when he was trying to change a smoke detector.

RCR elects to use No. 33 in Cup Series in place of No. 8, reserves number for Braxton Busch. https://www.jayski.com/2026/05/22/no-8-to-be-suspended-by-richard-childress-racing-team-switching-to-no-33/

Sounds like the bug I had at the end of March which I believe was the same bug I initially caught in February.

It's starting to sound like there wasn't a cause of death revealed because they don't really know the cause of death.

Regardless, an awful sounding way to go and just a crushing event for his family.

How awful. Wish he had taken some weekends off to recover, but drivers have raced through all kinds of illnesses for years.

There's no more waiver with the new points system. Wonder if they would consider something where if you have to miss a race for a medical condition you get points for the race you miss according to your average finish over the past 36 races (unless you're in the playoffs). It's a soft landing that encourages drivers not to put their long term health at risk.

He likely had no idea he had it and kept thinking he was battling through a lingering cold. And he doesn't strike me as the type of guy to go get fully checked out over a prolonged minor feeling illness.

I know someone who had pneumonia for a while and it took 3 doctors visits over a course of weeks before it finally got diagnosed.

Just such a sad situation for Kyle and his family.

Seen some discussion about the G forces at Dover how that track is so up and down could have made his condition worse. Not sure if it's accurate but makes sense

Gibbs' comments in his presser about Kyle's 2015 crash summed it up for me. He said when he went to visit Kyle at his home that he was immediately doing pull ups and wiggling his toes not long after his right leg was destroyed at Daytona. He wanted back in the car ASAP.

He loved racing so much and was such a hard-nosed competitor that a cold or sinus infection was not going to keep him out of the car or truck. Not many drivers want to race in all three series the way Kyle would.

He had a true need for speed and was one of the best to ever do it.

RIP, Kyle.

Would be something seeing Austin Hill win it in the 33 like Harvick in the 29 after Dale Earnhardt passed.

I know there are people who are *****ing about Amazon streaming races and they are either incapable or too feeble technologically to watch these races, but the production values here seem light years better than Fox.

I mean it's essentially a NBC broadcast... which has always been worlds better than FOX

Also, I'm not technical so forgive me.

My Prime audio is off the charts better than any other platform. My system pumps it out!!

What is going on? Like when Fox does "Crank it up", I turn it up and it's still not close to what Prime cranks out.
