Anita got a very raw deal. My Mother-in-law was friends with her when she lived in Miami, and my wife and her siblings used to go over to their house and their nanny (Kathy Lee Gifford) would watch the kids while the parents went out on a double date. Per my Mom, Anita had lots of gay friends, open and closeted. Her husband was very involved in his, I believe it was, Baptist Church in Miami, and the pastor used her fame to try to promote anti-gay stances. It cost Anita her career and a lot of friends, and as the article states she became the butt of a lot of jokes. My mother-in-law sent out her obituary to everyone in the family, and her words were, "She was quite unsophisticated. Her husband Bob got her into this mess. It must have seemed a very cruel world for her as it turned out".
Life can get really complicated.
She knew what she was doing, and in the highly unlikely event she was some unwitting pawn, she had almost 50 years to clear up any misunderstanding about it allegedly being her husband pulling the strings, particularly after they divorced. She could easily have looked to Tammy Faye Bakker for inspiration.
Yeah, seems like she kept her anti-gay stance her entire life per her own words in the article.

Flashback to 1998 in Tuzla, Bosnia...

I was a young Infantry Captain on Eagle Base. 2nd Armor Division Commanding General had that song played every morning after reveille. 10 months, 7 days a week, 0600hrs. To this day, I cannot listen to that song.

Sounds like it was CO poisoning in his home. His wife and dog were found dead as well

was absolutely in love with her in eurotrip. I didnt even know her name, but that one hurts. A year younger than me.

He was 95, and the last picture of him in public was a year ago when he was gaunt and walking with a cane. The dude was OLD.

I was referring to the Pope, but……

As a note, this is a morbid game and I respect the people that I listed. I take no real pleasure in ANY of them passing. Gene Hackman will always be considered a legend in my book. If the speculation is that it was carbon monoxide poisoning with the wife and dog, I am certain that they are crossing that rainbow bridge hand in hand and with the family dog in tow. 95 years is a blessing.

Yea. When my grandmom was 90 she had no idea who I was anymore. I would call and visit every once in a while, but not weekly.

And as details come out, gets weirder and weirder. She had pills by her and maybe dog starved.
