Is this another one of those more people have seen than I think? Nobody has heard about it that I have mentioned it to folks.

Looker (1981)

A Michael Crichton sci-fi/murder mystery movie about how television imagery manipulates our minds. Stars Susan Dey, James Coburn, and Albert Finney

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Looker?wprov=sfla1

That looks like some delightful '80s shlock.

Here's another schlocky 80s scifi movie.

Runaway (1984) stars Tom Selleck as the cop, Gene Simmons as the villainous evil genius, and Kirstie Alley in a bit part. Robots go berserk and start murdering people. It includes mid-80s Ford Taurus as futuristic police cruisers

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runaway_%281984_American_film%29?wprov=sfla1

Watched the movie all the time on cable, loved it!!

Gene Simmons had a convincing villain demeanor.

Agreed. I went into the movie know it was him. But in a relatively cheesy movie, he played a really good role.

Agreed.

I haven't seen the movie but I read a synopsis of the play in a Max Lucado book.

Chuck & Buck
Bubba Ho-Tep

We watched Bubba Ho-Tep years ago. My wife eventually left the room because it was so absurd. But, I enjoyed it. What's not to love: Elvis, Nursing Home, possessed Egyptian mummy.
