I do not watch many movies, once so many had special effects that were not believable, I lost interest. Not sure how I stumbled across "The Spitfire Grill" but I did and have watched it several times. You can rent it or buy it on Amazon. Stars Alison Elliott, Will Patton, Ellen Burstyn.

I remember this movie on TV. I think I was in 2nd grade. I don't understand why Richard Boone went back until one of my classmates explained it to me.

They went on to make several spinoffs about a war or something mostly between humans, but these will always be the peak of the franchise. I watched them again last year and they still hold up well.

I decent movie staring Jack Nicholson, Mary Steenburgen, Christopher Lloyd, John Belushi, Veronica Cartwright, Danny DeVito that you never heard about.

Goin South (1978). Also set in Texas.

We we skiing somewhere in NM and caught this at some drive-in just to have something to do that evening. Dad assumed it was a dud so sat in the back seat and let us kids sit up front. But after the opening scene he moved to the front seat.

Thanks for mentioning this. I had been wanting to see it but did not know it was on YouTube. So I just watched it and it's commercial free.
