Have your sister drive you around.

I wish - I was using her car until she took it with her to Louisiana where she has decided to get a job and build a life and blah blah abandonment.

Wait.

Her and the big defensive end husband aren't crashing in your place in Dallas anymore?

Who are you going to drive around when you are back home?

Also, people willingly move to Louisiana?

Their house build is finally underway and she wants a pool so he told her to get a job, lol. They're moving there to be closer to his parents as they age, though neither of them care for southern Louisiana. I'll visit during early crawfish season but that's about it.

I don't know if Gus is an outside winter cat but I suspect that he is. We'll see!

The last few winters have been mild and we didn't have a continuous blanket of snow that is so pretty to look at. We certainly had the below freezing for several months. There's something more chilling about Midwest winters - the cold seeps into your bones, I don't know how to describe it. 10 degrees feels a lot colder here than in other parts of the country but I don't know why.

We had such a neighborhood outdoors cat in Salt Lake City. Our next door neighbor bought a small heated outdoor shelter for him on her back stoop. He would not go inside the house, but the shelter was a sort of rudimentary cave with a pad which heated slightly when he stepped on it. He made it through some very cold winters.
