No Beth Phoenix .. after the setup during the men fight.. I assume she would be involve some how.
Overall the matches has been good but not great. Still have not seen that wow moment from this Royal Rumble. Again a lot of great spots and good story (Brock, Bobby Lashley, Sheamus, Drew, Omos.. all had great story in the rumble) However; No Rock.. no Stone Cold.. no Beth against Rhea in Women Royal Rumble. Booker T and Paul Logan did great but nothing special yet.
Hoping the Final match will be really great.
Agree. I fear that the timeline to do the Rock vs Roman is running out. Rock isn't getting younger and he is already 50 years old. Now that being said, solid story telling and right now the Bloodline story w/ Sami is extremely good.Dan Scott said:
No Rock
But that was good
As out of the WWE universe as I am now, glad you made it. It's such a blast. This Logan Paul bit intrigues me. Not a big fan of his but all I keep hearing from non-wrestling fans that are friends is essentially "Did you see what Logan Paul did?" to which my response is "No, I only watch AEW now. Can you fill me in and how do you know what's going on with wrestling?"Sex Panther said:
Was at the show. Crowd was hyped for the men's Rumble. Think Seth got the loudest pop followed closely by Edge, Brock, Booker T, and Rey. Cody got a good pop but still no clue why they announced before he was returning.
McAfee return was also a huge pop and got the crowd buzzing.
Logan Paul and Ricochet spot was absolutely incredible. Logan Paul is a giant Dbag, but there's no denying how good he is at this. He's a natural and freak athlete. He's hit an insane spot every time he wrestles. Luckily he and WWE seem to get that he needs to be a heel and will generate serious heat. Looks like they are setting up him vs Rollins for Wrestlemania which will be awesome... but if Seth doesn't win I will lose it.
I ran to the restroom for the Pitch Black match and thought I was quick. Came back just in time to see the Uncle Howdy dive. This Bray Wyatt thing is losing me after starting off really cool. LA Knight got a good pop and is winning the crowd over. He's awesome on the mic... YEAAAAH
The KO-Roman match was good, but afterward felt like one of the biggest moments in rasslin history. The Sami story has been so phenomenal. The crowd ERUPTED when Sami finally hit Roman. And I don't know how loud it was on tv or if they edited it out... but the entire arena chanting "**** YOU ROMAN" was iconic. And then Jey walking out and so visibly torn... just amazing stuff.
I get a lot of people like Cody for some reason... but I think he's corny as hell and so forced. The Sami-Bloodline story has been so organic and amazing to watch... I think Sami winning would just be such an incredible moment and one of the loudest pops of all time. Excited to see what they do with him and The Bloodline at Elimination Chamber in his hometown of Montreal. The crowd is going to be nuclear for Sami.
Really fun show. So glad I finally got to see a Royal Rumble.

Logan Paul is easy to hate, which makes him a good celebrity pop in heel. However, it's also easy to respect him for the work he has done to appear legitimate in the ring. He shouldn't be a full time worker, because that would take away from what makes him effective as a heel, but he does great work when he's in the ring.
WWE has done a great job with celebrity appearances over the last few years. Paul, Pat Macafee, and even Bad Bunny have turned in respectable or better in ring performances. Hell, all three of them have put in better performances than anything Ronda Rousey has done in the ring, and she's held multiple belts.

I guess I dig Cody because I followed him while he was with ROH. He's completely committed to pro wrestling, and that for me, makes him easy to support…
If you’re questioning what happened with Jey Uso, you haven’t been paying attention for the last 2.5 years.
