…apparently the social embargo now lifts tonight? Must have had RAVING reviews. If so this makes sense for ticket sales. We shall see. pic.twitter.com/JnZyvb7VR5
The #FantasticFour social embargo has been moved to tonight at 6 PM PT!

Many will say THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS is fantastic, and they’ll be right for several reasons. The four main cast members are excellent, Michael Giacchino’s lively score is instantly memorable, and the ‘60s retro-futuristic production design & dynamic visual effects are a… pic.twitter.com/FttR5SioVe

I came in tempered but #FantasticFour is truly a return to form for the MCU, the opening minutes blew my socks off in IMAX. Gardner’s & Quinn’s work stood out to me the most. Galactus gives this film real stakes and his presence is felt even off screen, incredible miniature work! pic.twitter.com/eStc6TK0mp

#FantasticFour is a story about family above all else, where each member of the team is equally important. No one is underserved; the movie excels when fleshing out the various bonds between Pedro, Vanessa, Ebon, & Joseph.

The retro '60s aesthetic works on all fronts. pic.twitter.com/S5QRfLNgnG
More initial thoughts: movie is less focused on action and more on the FF solving problems as a family, which can be appreciated. The plot itself is a bit too nonsensical and scenes feel cut out for the sake of time. Galactus looks awesome. Not perfect, but the cast saves it 4️⃣

Fantastic Four: First Steps has a lot of fantastic in it, yet feels it could be more.
— Brandon Davis (@BrandonDavisBD) July 19, 2025
Visually, some of Marvel’s best work ever and more sci-fi than expected! Story didn’t hook me as I’d hoped but family beats land well. Action scenes are great.
I wanted to love it, I liked it! pic.twitter.com/48hUn7RcJo
#FantasticFour First Steps is visually one of the best things Marvel has ever made. Parts feel like Interstellar & demand IMAX.
— Brandon Davis (@BrandonDavisBD) July 19, 2025
Galactus is awesome. Silver Surfer looks really, really good. VFX were often immaculate.
Cosmically and on Earth, Matt Shakman dropped a visual feast. pic.twitter.com/bDSiSTNif7
Fantastic Four friggin’ rocks! More than any Marvel movie before it, F4 feels like Jack Kirby’s imagination brought to life on the big screen. Between this and Superman, 2025 might go down as the year movies finally embrace the wonderful weirdness of comic books. (1/3) pic.twitter.com/M2wS78HOic

I have but one gripe. Like Superman, there are some rough CGI baby moments that might give you nightmares. I don’t know why babies seem to be so tough for animators to get right but I’d almost prefer the actors just wrap a football in a blanket and pretend it’s a baby. (3/3) pic.twitter.com/s6rdI77GaS

#TheFantasticFour: First Steps is EXTRAORDINARY! The score is pure magic, the visuals are next-level, and the cast chemistry is electric. It’s bold, fresh, and unlike anything Marvel’s done before. This is their next MASTERPIECE! pic.twitter.com/lg5UHguPoi

#FantasticFour is visually stunning, stylish, self-contained, and easy to jump into. I had such a good time with this one. The retrofuturism is such a snack. My stand out is Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm babe I will die for you, you are perfect. pic.twitter.com/RlRgk6U83U

#TheFantasticFour is SIMPLY FANTASTIC! Marvel’s first family shines with chemistry & charisma Stan Lee would be proud of. Visually incredible, the FF dazzle from start to finish. Ben Grimm brings the heart. Silver Surfer is perfection. Matt Shakman delivers one of Marvel’s best. pic.twitter.com/OTqbbh75em

#FantasticFour Quite possibly the best Marvel Studios film ever released. Absolutely loaded with talent and standout performances from Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn. If you thought the MCU died with Endgame, think again. Thoughtfully crafted and easily a genre-defining classic pic.twitter.com/nU8k7c7boC

After watching the new #FantasticFour, I truly do believe that Marvel needs to clean house. It’s borderline unwatchable.
— . (@furyofthegodz) July 19, 2025
Such a step down from Shakman’s WandaVision. Pascal and Quinn were a huge swing… and even bigger miss. Kirby’s Sue is the only part worth seeing it for. pic.twitter.com/vaIpjmWrrU

It’s the most visually dazzling film Marvel Studios has made.
Galactus rocks. He’s enough of a reason to see this movie. There are other reasons: the music, the performances, the action, the WORLD.
A step in the right direction for Marvel. pic.twitter.com/duyAV9dnJT
I was a little nervous about #FantasticFour. These characters mean a lot to me. But this movie is a magnificent and awe-inspiring introduction to a new MCU corner (that feels lived in). The cast soars. Galactus is EPIC. Moms are the most powerful beings in this or any universe. pic.twitter.com/XUwshgeOvN

Nothing will prepare you for #TheFantasticFour First Steps. Pedro Pascal is the perfect Reed, but the entire cast shines and does right by these characters. It’s funny, moving, gorgeous to look at, and non-stop FANTASTIC. This is @MarvelStudios at its brilliant best. 4️⃣ pic.twitter.com/Mf28sxGkwt

#FantasticFour is a triumph. A pitch-perfect script backed by great performances — particularly from Pedro Pascal — turns what could be a simple superhero movie into a sharp commentary on our society that makes its nuance palatable for those that may not take it at face value. pic.twitter.com/yQ2EszFAcn

#FantasticFour is an incredible movie. The first 60 minutes are fantastic but in general, the whole movie is honestly magical.

Kevin Feige on a potential reboot after 'AVENGERS SECRET WARS':
— Nexus Point News (@NexusPointNews) July 20, 2025
“Reboot is a scary word. Reboot can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Reset, singular timeline — we’re thinking along those lines. X-Men’ is where that will happen next.”

The Variety article explains it better because he specifically mentioned that he does NOT want it to be described as an MCU reboot 😭

Very interesting.
Yeah, I think Doom definitely makes an appearance, potentially in roughly the way you mention, and the plan could very well be to zap Galactus to our universe. But ultimately, my guess is the opposite happens. I think Galactus consumes their Earth, and the Fantastic Four barely escape by the skin of their teeth to our universe, the only remaining survivors. Then the question would be, does Doom make it on their ship with them, or does he find another way to jump to our universe?
Regardless, we're going to get more plot development in this movie, in that regard, than in any other movie since Endgame, which is super exciting.
We’ll see other heroes visit the Fantastic Four’s universe in ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY,' according to Kevin Feige.

I'm intrigued by and generally like the approach, sounds like we're going to abandon the multiverse at least for now which I'm totally ok with; it tends to get a little convoluted and confusing and allows for easy outs to solve conflicts.
The way I'm reading this they're going to make the FF and X-Men the primary heroes moving forward, potentially on a different but unified timeline, then eventually recast some other primary characters? To me that indicates that it's not going to be Earth-616 and I'd assume not Earth-1005 (Deadpool) since we've already got mutants and X-Men there.
So this could be FF's Earth, X-Men's Earth, or potentially a different one altogether that they arrive on after the events of Secret Wars?
