Your opinion.

I thought that movie was a boring torture fest. I didn't like the actual portrayal of Dracula. While the movie looked great, it failed everywhere else for me.

Agree, wasn't my favorite either. Sort of combination of things that bugged me: very slow in places, unintelligible dialogue and a general "too familiar" story. Dracula/Nosferatu has been around for over a century, and it takes the thrill out of a movie when it's been remade/retold so many times.

I kind of get that. But i found the beauty of the visuals and cinematography to be worth it even if you know the story. I felt similarly to the GDT Frankenstein movie on Netflix. Familiar story, but beautifully depicted and enough new detail to find richness to enjoy.

I just dig Eggers so much. In my opinion, there is nothing like his films that I've ever seen. Not that I love everything about every one of them. But to create the settings, all the details of those sets, and the writing, plus some kick ass directing. It's very impressive and original what he's doing. The Northman is very good if you all haven't checked that one out.

Nolan movies outside of his 2nd and 3rd Batman movies have never raked in what could be considered huge audiences. I guess Oppenheimer would be considered huge by Nolan standards, but relatively huge? No.

I seriously doubt there's a ton of women amped up to see The Odyssey, so yeah, there's half of your general audience who could likely care less about it but meanwhile are definitely excited to see the Devil sequel. My wife is one of them.

From what I can tell, Gen Z loves the 90's. What was the peak in the 90's? Malls and Movies. I bet that is why there is a resurgence. I'm sure it's to provide content on their SM posts. Look how ironic I am with my bag of popcorn in front of a mall theatre, just to post on Tik Tok. Whatever it is, I'm glad these American institutions are staying alive.

The last couple of times I've been to the mall it was refreshing to see the teens hanging out and walking around, mostly not on their phones.

According to IMDB, the protagonist from the first one, Cole, is in this movie. I guess he has a minor role or is killed or something? Haven't seen him in either of the trailers...maybe he's not actually in the movie? Which is kind of hilarious

Btw, CinemaCon is this week in Las Vegas (starting earlier today), where all the studios present footage/trailers for all their big movies over the next year or so to theater owners and press. Reactions are public, but in past years most of the footage has remained exclusively in-person. That said, for whatever reasons, numerous trailers are rumored to be releasing online simultaneously this week, starting with Angel studios big trailer dump above, along with Lionsgate's release of the new Hunger Games trailer (also above), going all the way through Thursday.

So, yeah... it should be a fun trailer week!

Agreed. I don't know know how historically accurate this will end up, but I do know from reading a book titled Crucible of War that as a younger man, Washington did play a role in the French and Indian War. I just added a non-blockbuster title to my must-see list.

The wonderful podcast History That Doesn't Suck goes into extreme detail about it. You could follow the trail of logic that George's actions directly started the French & Indian war, which led to the British tasking the sheet out of the colonists to pay for the war, which led to the Revolution, which led to him becoming General & President Washington.

I'm pretty sure it's the subject of the very first episode. This podcast has gotten my fat ass through many hundreds of miles of walking while being fascinated and entertained.
