What's the deal with this Angel Studios? A few pages back, there were several trailers by them. This weekend, my kids pulled up a very charming but not great movie called "The Girl Who Believes in Miracles" or something like that. So they have been coming up quite a bit recently for me personally. Is this a new Christian studio making wholesome movies for the whole family? Is there anything else behind it that is worth sharing?

I watched Solo Mio not long ago in the theaters, a movie put out by Angel Studios starring Kevin James. He's not Mormon that I know of lol, and it was a nice inoffensive, non religious, charming date movie.

Their recent release, David, was a great movie for a family with kids!

I'm certainly not trying to dissuade anyone from watching Angel Studios, I just wouldn't share it with my kids until I double checked myself that they don't slide in any non-trinitarian type things unless I was ready to explain that with the little ones. They are doing great work from what I understand in the family friendly/pg arena which is sorely lacking in diversity.

Just based off of Solo mio and the other trailers I've seen from them, I think that's all they're trying to do.... put some movies out there that simply don't have any 2020's-era political agenda.

Sound of Freedom is what really put them on the map a few years ago. Resulting in one of the worst threads in the history of this board, though I won't hold that against them.

Not sure, but my whole family adores Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003)

This has some of that same flavor.

Apparently, it was supposed to come out in 2023, but was shelved.

An R rated horror thriller that focuses completely on a comic villain such as ClayFace could be really really cool/unique (basically what if it's 'Venom' but rated R and good).

I watched this yesterday while my kids napped and I needed to fold a bunch of laundry...because I assumed it would be a movie I dont care to be 1000% immersed in.

Loved the premise. Thought both leads(two of my favorites)were great at their role.

It was silly in some parts as you would expect.

5.9/10. Its a good one to throw on during folding laundry like I did.
