I totally missed whatever the bet was?
A hundred dollars that
Jurassic World Rebirth would be top five at the end of the year in box office.
He said it would "tank" (which, btw, it unequivocally did not), to which, in good fun, I said let's put money on it. Not in the deranged, "I have to be right" way he keeps claiming. I even let him choose domestic or worldwide, he chose the former and, in fact, to that end I've said multiple times now that he'll probably end up winning (i.e. that "I was (probably) wrong."). However, that's not guaranteed yet, as there are still five months left in the year. Yet he's already hit me up for the money at least three times now, claiming it's over.
Should I lose, I had every intention of paying him, but in the time since our bet was placed he's gone on a truly obsessive - almost stalker-esque - spree of mentioning the bet every chance he gets, in thread and after, insulting me time and again when I push back in any way when it comes to potential projections or the fact that, again, the year is still barely halfway over. In the process, he's continually brought up things I mentioned once, off-handedly, years ago, that have nothing to do with the bet, that would require either hours if not days of posting history research - or - the pettiest of memories, connecting dots to my behavior in ways that make absolutely no sense, never mind how wrong/insulting his claims are.
Multiple posters have clocked it, commented on it, and asked him to dial it back, etc. He's been banned a couple times as well. Yet, as you can see, after all these months, he still can't help himself.
Come December 31, should I lose, I have no problem donating the $100 to charity or whatever else and posting a screenshot here. What I refuse to do is engage with him anymore on this site, and certainly not off this site, in any way where information between us would have to be exchanged (on Venmo, etc). Unfortunately, he has proven to be borderline manic, if not highly suspect, and I would be an idiot to risk any kind of engagement in that regard.
