So, if I understand correctly, come fall, one could theoretically drop cable/satellite and now YouTube TV/Hulu/etc as well, and subscribe to JUST these apps to be able to watch every nationally broadcast NFL/college football game?
- ESPN (ABC, ESPN, ACC Network, Big 12, SEC Network)
- FOX One (FOX, Big 10 Network, Big 12)
- Amazon (NFL Thursday Night Football)
- Paramount+ (CBS, Big 10 Game of the Week)
- Peacock (NBC Sunday Night Football)
Granted, NFL Sunday Ticket is exclusive to YouTube TV, but I'm not counting that.
Obviously, it would suck having to navigate between apps, as opposed to having all games on a single cable/streaming service. That, and I've grown so accustomed to YouTube TV's multiview that it would be hard to live without it during the busier times of the year.
But it sounds like every game would at least be available otherwise.
Now, if Apple or Amazon or someone would just create the equivalent of a scrollable "guide," incorporating all the various live content from all the various apps (and add multiview to boot), we'd really be getting somewhere.
Quote:
- ESPN (ABC, ESPN, ACC Network, Big 12, SEC Network) - $29.99
- FOX One (FOX, Big 10 Network, Big 12) - $?
- Amazon (NFL Thursday Night Football) - $14.99
- Paramount+ (CBS, Big 10 Game of the Week) - $7.99
- Peacock (NBC Sunday Night Football) - $7.99

Probably not much. I currently subscribe to YouTube TV and a number of apps, but not Paramount+ or Peacock regularly. So, in theory, I'd essentially be dropping my YouTube TV subscription ($83) and replacing it with ESPN ($30), FOX One ($15ish?), Paramount+ ($8), and Peacock ($8) for a savings of $20 per month if not less. But losing a ton of navigation convenience, multiview, and a number of other channels in the process.
So, yeah, definitely not worth it yet.

At least they're smart enough to recognize that the terrible decision they made was a terrible decision, I guess.

But are you really saving anything by having all those services? Plus as mentioned, the headache of navigating between apps to see what you want? I think I'll just keep it simple and stay with YouTube tv.
